Since it’s just us here, I’m quite intrigued what your thoughts were as you watched this film. No need to be pretentious and edgy, I hope you don’t mind sharing a thing or two about this show.

Questions to answer (personal/subjective):

1. What are the ups and downs of this show?

2. How were the characters for you? How humanly realistic were they cognitively/psychologically?

3. Is it relevant for a fictional horror film to possess depth and complexity we collectively possess?

4. Why did you watch this? (Boredom, insight gathering, etc, anything in your mind)

5. Do you believe that this fictional 2-episode film could happen in the real world? Are we capable of that? State your reason.

6. What do you think of Junji Ito’s perception of reality regarding people? Did it resonate with you or is it outright absurdity?

7. A diagnosed psychopath had already been confirmed to shed tears over the loss of someone. In contrast to that, what are your thoughts about the part where a whole class easily agrees to mutilate a highschool girl led by their teacher which is obviously a sudden display of sociopathy?

8. Does your rating corresponds with your beliefs? Yes or No, offer a concise reason.

I’m aware this isn’t practically useful at all so you are not obligated to respond.

i mean this is still the Lowest rating I've ever personal given something on mal I'm not sure if the show was "bad“ but it definitely just had alot of really cringy moments in it like when they were all playing with the guts but tg6 cringe isn't the reason I hate it so much.
it's because of the overwhelming anxiety i got from watching this like i struggled with even getting to sleep for a week after I saw it and no it's not because it was scary it definitely wasn't. so to this day I have decided i will never give another anime a 1 unless it makes me feel as bad as this show did

Don’t don’t, we’re just only exchanging thoughts here. Grammar is irrelevant.

I am probably not going to state everything you have mentioned in orders. First of all, if you look at the classroom’s attitude towards Tomie, you can see it is increasingly negative. Tomie was shown as promiscuous and in a forbidden relationship with her own teacher. Now, while this attitudes and human complexities are well shown, comes the question? Can it happen in real life?
YES.

Why yes? Okay, first of all, let me tell you about a model named Kitty Genovese, who was murdered in 1964, whose murder was witnessed by 38 witnesses; none of them helped her or called the police.
Yet you are thinking they didn’t actively kill her!
Let’s see witch trials.
Innocent women and in some cases, men were accused of witch and were killed. The question is was the execution publicly handled? TBH, I do not know. However, you can see it in mobbing, specially towards women violence. Women are and can be ganged up against to rape and far more brutality. That girl who was BRUTALLY murdered and raped for 40 days? The incident was in Japan. So, I get Ito Junji’s perspectives on humans.

While, I may not be much convincing and maybe vague, what I want to actually talk about is the crimes that are done like this. And in the recent pandemic, I’ve seen cruel acts of violence towards women. So, Tomie was not a GOOD girl, but the question Junji puts in our mind, did she deserve that?
And now, why did I watch it?
I don’t know! I just watched it one day and I don’t know why! I was spooked out a bit but I also think as I was watching it, I got that feeling that the whole classroom weren’t as innocent as they looked. Yeah, Tomie being killed by everyone was surprising. I will not recommend this to people because it’s gruesome and may prove to be traumatic to some people.

Will do. The snailmen in Uzumaki were definitely disgusting especially the part where they ate those things so I’ll definitely check out Tomie.
