Saw this quote online and it reads as such:

"sailor moon in general needs a pr overhaul... if ppl knew sailor moon was a serious story rich in plot and didn’t write it off as a silly kids’ show while stealing its aesthetics for corny twitter and pinterest posts cosmos movie would CHEW in the box office"

I rlly agree with this and would be curious in how you would improve this?

No, Sailor Moon is both of those things you mentioned at once, it has serious episodes and goofy ones depending on how relevant the episode is to the plot. Pretending Sailor Moon is either all goofy or all serious diminishes it's quality overall - which I feel comes from being able to do both well.

Sailor moon is so popular and most of people just haven't seen the anime and talk about it like they know what's going on in the history. It really has some good plots but it surely have a lot of EPS where you just "waste" 20 minutes because nothing really happens. The history is surely good but this anime contains alot of slice of life and it can be kinda boring sometimes..

(Don't get me wrong, I do love sailor moon and aesthetic stuff people do with it) ☺️

I definitely agree with this. People keep thinking it's a kid's show when it is a SHOUJO meant for pre-teens around Usagi's age. It's not a kodomo like Pokémon, for example.

It's especially annoying when people use it to downplay the show's plot or emotional/dramatic moments. Like when they say "oh my god, [that moment] at the end of season 1 was way too much for kids!!!!"... probably because it wasn't meant for kids in the first place? Don't get me wrong, I don't think Sailor Moon is inappropriate for kids to watch, but the original target audience is definitely older than that.
