However, I do agree that she barely progress, and had barely any development as a person at least up to the beginning of vol 8. And that was what make her inferior to Yume. I rarely compare characters and I’m not trying to pose as some anime/LN reader elitists. But I think the Isana being praised superior to Yume is just pure “anime-onlies” talk.

If you argue on why she was (somewhat) preferred to Yume in the anime, it’s because Isana’s vulnerability at the beginning of the series appeals many people’s desire to protect. That and just that, she keeps the status-quo for soooo long that even I, who rarely be judgy, found it a bit annoying.
