| I know there are many anthology series out there but this one is kind of a weird case where I think the three films should be separate entries here on MAL. Reasons: 1. Other sources/sites separate them and treat each as there own films such as Letterboxd and IMDB for example. 2. Considering each one is nearly 40 minutes in length they can they can be considered medium length films, similar to some of Shinkai's earlier stuff like Garden of Words or Voices of a Distant Star which are both entries on MAL. I am not saying to abolish the Memories entry entirely but I would like to be able to score/rank each of these titles individually. Having four entries, one for each film and then Memories as a complete collection would be a very nice thing to see. |

Different sites , different rules. 2. True , but those 3 stories are officially considered as only 1 Movie. I've read that it was also like that for the Manga , but i've not read it myself , so i'm not sure. I am not saying to abolish the Memories entry entirely but I would like to be able to score/rank each of these titles individually. MAL makes sure that there is no duplicates in the database , so it really is the last thing they'll do. So it won't happen. If you want to rate the stories separately , you can use your tags. |
