Yea, it was a great read, but I kinda expected them to end up together, so I was suprised when nothing like that happened and only pure family love was there. I liked it, it was different and somehow more real. The father was cute and amazingly handsome, as are all of the characters that mangaka draws, I liked how he acted stupid too :)

I agree that it was a great read!!
I usually only like it if they end up together, but I am content it ended with only a family type of love.

This is probably my favorite one shot. I thought it was just amazing, and I was happy it didn't end in her and her step-father being romantically involved. :)

Same. I went into this knowing nothing and was like "Is this girl going to date her step-dad?" Glad it didn't get weird like that and was just a sweet manga.

For a one-shot, there's a remarkable amount of character grown and development, with Kiriyuu Reiji coming to terms with his wife's death, accepting separation from his biological family, and regaining enough trust in the world that Mei's biking no longer scares him.

And not a quantum of quasi-incest subtext, which is much appreciated.

The art was pretty good, though I think the paneling could've been tidied up a bit, as at times the flow is a bit hard to follow.
