I mean, even if the MC lost his magic, he's still likely to be much stronger than an average human, right? He could've just become an MMA fighter and earn millions of $ by beating human weaklings. This is something that always bothers me in stories where a very strong person living in our modern society struggles to earn money. Athletes and fighters can earn a lot and if you're physically super-human there are many ways for you to get rich. Take for example Isekai Ojisan where uncle earns money by making Youtube videos, this makes way more sense than working at McDonalds and being paid a minimal wage.

I didn't read the actual manga, though, so perhaps it was explained somehow? Maybe despite being Demon Lord, the protagonist is physically weak and/or mentally too stupid to find a better way to earn cash?

If so, then what's even the point of him being a former Demon Lord? He's just an ordinary guy with memories of a Demon Lord, then.

Maybe he just likes working at McDonald's? Money isn't everything. Damn, his life goal is to be the best Mac employee who has ever existed. Some people value jobs in which they can be fulfilled rather than high-paid jobs with boring assignments. Idk what the creator has on his mind but the premise can be like this.

Just watch the first episode and you find out. Simple as that.

The entire purpose of the show is Dark Lord stepping down so low to be s minimum wage slave worker and living in rundown apartment.
This absurd premise is where all of the comedy in this show originates from and is the entire selling point of the series.

ok but you forgetting other things, his place of origin is basically medieval with magic, he doesn't know how to get that kind of fame, you are assuming he knows it's a job in the first place. He doesn't even understand how the world works to take those kinds of advantages.

dude just onething never expect logics in a anime show if it puts smile on our faces that much is enough i can't understand the point of making a forum to prove your thesis..

The first tag does say comedy. So yes, while you said could happen, it’s still just a comedy.
The right mindset when watching an anime is hoping that it will break your top 10

you watch 1 episode and judge the whole show. Not cool dude!!!

Atleast watch few more episodes, they might answer atleast a few questions you have in your head. that's common sense

I'd like to think just take is as it is.. don't think too much about the premise and just enjoy what happens in the show. it is really funny and most of the characters are very likeable....

it's a comedy, so of course the premise is going to be dumb. However, from what I remember, it was a funny show. Give it a watch if you like.

One, Satan, Alsiel, Emilia, and the rest are unfamiliar with this world. Secondly, there's no proof to suggest that Maou's human body is stronger than average. He's only super strong when his magic is at full power. From the first episode, it is clear that the bodies of Satan and Alsiel transformed to humans in order to physically fit into the world (plus their magic was depleted when entering the world).
