| So, Hisyama basically left because he got criticized by Takada-san. "Living creatures are so cute, they do their best to keep on living"- Fuji. Well, aside from that, there's only a monht left for the assignment and Yaguchi still hasn't done a jack shit about it. Getting confronted by the teachers by his absent, he told him that he stayed at "No Marks". A "cult" that is hated outside of their group. After Yaguchi's self confrontation, I felt like he'd make a decision, a harsh decision. One which he would regret but, learn a lot from afterwards. Fuji-san managed to drive him away form those thoughts with a simple 50 minutes documentary. Which made him think about it even further. Does he even LIKE art? Or is he doing it simply because it is what he started with and got through his school career. Fear not, there's something worse happening. Fuji's disbanding the group due to money problems and the thing about Takada-san was true but, they were simply a group of people who loved art. Society is harsh and none gives a shit about you if you can't even pay up your rent. Yaguchi's confronted with his assignment once again. Before he even starts on it, he has to know what it actually means to have guilt. How does he decide what's right or wrong? He learnt it all the way from prep school that it's all interperation. Back to the old group where he asks for some equipments to work on his art. Of course, they're all ready to help him but he has been working alone most of his time so, asking for help from other people is pretty hard and I can relate with that. Well, it's good to have a friend group that's always ready to back you up. It seems like it'd be incredible but, it's time to wait another day, week or even monht for the next chapter. One last thing, Inuki-sensei remembered Fuji, pretty interesting if she shows up later on. |

| The rumour about Takada ended up having truth to it, but I wouldn't say it was "true" necessarily. I haven't checked the original Japanese version of the chapter, but if 'makes her work at a cabaret club' is an accurate enough translation, that's still speculation. For all we know Takada could be doing it voluntarily, or even have come up with the idea herself. The way Fuji is presented here tempts the reader into believing even the most sinister interpretation of the collective and particularly Fuji's behaviour, but I think this is the author taking us on the same emotional rollercoaster Yaguchi is experiencing. He got very intensely involved in a very short period of time, so he had a superficial and romanticised view of everything that happened, which the return to Geidai suddenly snapped him out of. Being forced to extricate yourself from something you were deeply embedded with and recontextualise the situation can be even more emotionally intense than the experience itself due to the loss of reference point; what you thought just hours ago seems like it could be a complete lie. You also have to work through it on your own because you're likely alienated from those who shared in the experience, while outsiders won't be able to relate. So I think the shadowy/sinister depiction of Fuji in this and the prior chapter is a tool used to set the necessary mood to have us follow Yaguchi's descent from an ecstatic high into this dark haze of uncertainty and doubt. It's not her 'final form' so much as a piece missing from the puzzle up to now. Her being an ill-spirited cult leader whose interactions with others are purely manipulative in nature would be uncharacteristically one-dimensional for this manga, anyway. My guess regarding Inukai would be a classic case of two people who share a fascination for something but took it into completely opposite directions, thereby being highly irritating but also fascinating to the other. This would mirror the collective wallowing in their dislike of art school culture rather than simply disregarding it. Could be completely off though, maybe they have some sort of personal history (which we may or may not be clued into). |
| No wonder "no marks" is basically feared as a cult, you'd find the whole thing so alluring that even the tiniest bit of conversation there can put thousands of thoughts in your mind, I mean that's just what Yaguchi's going through. One month to the review exam now.. may it actually go well this time around. |

| good riddance disbanding no marks, one of the most toxic congregation for a bunch of degenerate losers where fuji was the only accomplished artist sadistically feeding off bringing down anyone with potential below her level. in that regard she was no different from tua vice prez academy flexing sigmamale dominance over self-taught artists by ruining their ambitions lmao. |
