The fanservice cometh xD

...the lines of her legs were so sensual, it was almost scandalous. Well played Sato, well played. Also, well played Nilitsu for using a teehee face for the oasis illustration, heh

All jokes aside, it remarkable that an oasis with a scene reminiscent of the modern day beach episode often featured in anime doesn't feel out of place in this story, given how bizarre (or wildly comprehensive) the world design has been thus far, in terms of being an interesting mix/ mashup of the kind of world that you'd expect from a fantasy/ RPG game, mixed with some elements of our world, with some technology and phenomena that most definitely belong in a sci-fi novel.

Back onto the topic of this chapter and it seems my assessment at the end of the previous chapter was a bit off and the Iron Chain are more like an organised crime outfit, but with apparel and weapons more akin to bandits and outlaws from western films perhaps. Either way, it looks like we're on course for another Menou x Ashuna tag-team, seeing as their aim is to capture Akari, in order to use her power to free a prisoner from the East...

Meanwhile, Pandæmonium and Manon are happily enjoying life in Grisarika Kingdom, seemingly deepening their bond with each other... It's almost cute, if they weren't completely (in the case of the former) or partially (in the case of Manon) evil, heh

No word on Flare's current status in this chapter, which is interesting, given the foreshadowing at the end of Volume Two.

The Virgin Road clearly isn't a walk in the park, the threats now are;

• Iron Chain, who are intent on abducting Akari and potentially unleashing further chaos after freeing a prisoner using her power.
• Pandæmonium, who is just evil xD
• Manon, who wants to disrupt Akari and Menou's adventure, supposedly for Menou's sake.
• Flare, whose intentions are still very much unknown...
