Streaming platform Netflix announced during the second day of its Geeked Week event that a live-action movie adaptation of Haro Aso and Koutarou Takata's Zom 100: Zombie ni Naru made ni Shitai 100 no Koto (Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead) manga is in production. The movie will premiere worldwide on Netflix in 2023.

Eiji Akaso (Kamen Rider Build) is starring in the movie as Akira Tendou. Yuusuke Ishida (Shin Godzilla) is helming the movie. Shinichi Takahashi is credited as the executive producer and Akira Morii (Imawa no Kuni no Alice live-action) from production company ROBOT is credited as a producer.

Aso and Takata began serializing the zombie comedy manga in Sunday Gene-X magazine in October 2019. Shogakukan shipped the tenth volume on February 18, with the 11th volume scheduled to release on June 17. VIZ Media licensed the manga in English and will publish the seventh volume on August 16.

Synopsis
In a trash-filled apartment, 24-year-old Akira Tendo watches a zombie movie with lifeless, envious eyes. After spending three hard years at an exploitative corporation in Japan, his spirit is broken. He can't even muster the coursage to confess his feelings to his beautiful co-worker Ohtori. Then one morning, he stumbles upon his landlord eating lunch—which happens to be another tenant! The whole city's swarming with zombies, and even though he's running for his life, Akira has never felt more alive! (Source: VIZ Media)

Netflix did a great job with Alice in Borderland so I'm gonna remain optimistic about this since they too have shown via their Korean shows that they can do zombies very well

Netflix adaptations are ass, no better than some of Japan's notorious practices.

Not going to be hopeful since Netflix likes to rush things out of the gate.
