"I was reckless when I was young. I educated myself by cursing the heartlessness of the world. The world was cruel – so I made myself more heartless and used that as a weapon, trying to follow through on my ideals."
Well for Anime: It was back in 2006, when I used to have this particular cousin who used to stay with me and my family. He stayed with us because he went to a university near our house, during that time and he hated staying in the hostel. He would always show me "weird cartoons" Normie Parents SMH. But I don't remember anything from back then. However, I do remember that in May of 2007, I saw him watching an episode which was B/W where a guy was angry and was running around cutting people. I guess that was the thing that intrigued me. (Note: I learnt later that it was Dororo to Hyakkimaru Episode 2) Ever since then I truly liked Anime.
And as for Manga: I don't really remember but it'd say it was probably around 2013/2014 when I found out that my grandmother was actually Half-Japanese. When I asked her about it, she said that it was true and took me to her study room where there were (and still are) more than 5000 volumes of different Mangas primarily from the 1980's onward. I was stumped to know that she actually loved reading Mangas ever since she was a university student back in Japan (She came back to India in the late 1960s). She would often mail me a few over posts every week or so and I'd send them back once I was done reading them. (I do say reading them but it was mostly seeing the pictures as most of them were raw original Japanese which she'd import from Japan). I'd completed most of them by 2016 meanwhile reading raw Manga online since I didn't feel comfortable reading English translated ones. From 2017 onwards began my English Manga reading era which was mostly online while reading only a handful in real copies.
What interests do you have outside of anime?
Hmmm now that's not very much I've got to admit but well.... I guess I'll go in chronological order from when I was younger till now. Now starting off earliest I think gaming was my earliest hobby. From 2010-2015 I became an intensive gamer.... Not much but just enough to get tired of it 😅. The games I have played are
There may be a few games I forgot to mention, but those are most likely ones which didn't impact me much.
I also played several other smaller games which I don't think will be worth mentioning.
I still do play 1 Android game though.... Namely "Call of Duty Mobile".
From 2016-2019 I started taking music classes for keyboard and I got tired fast.... I did get to 5th grade but I gave up after that.... I went for guitar classes in 2015 for a year but I just gave up 😂.
During the same time, I tried my hand at making music using "FL Studio", "Waveform", "Ardour", "Audacity" and other DAWs.
I wasn't really successful making barely 3-4 songs which didn't really hit me so I gave up on that as well.
In 2019 I went on a traveling spree. First focusing on the neighboring countries of India and then to the "important countries”. The countries I visited are
1. Pakistan
2. Afghanistan
3. Sri Lanka
4. Nepal
5. Bangladesh
6. Bhutan
7. Myanmar
8. China (Hong Kong)
9. Singapore
10. Laos
11. Indonesia
12. Australia
13. USA
14. UK
15. Germany
I have also visited almost every Indian state... (26/28). I haven't been to 2 states yet, those being - Rajasthan and Jammu & Kashmir.
My latest hobby, especially because of the lockdown, is to listen to horror stories on YouTube. Specifically Lazy Masquerade and Let’s Read! . I highly recommend these guys.
How did you become the biggest Rias Simp?
If anyone has been following me for some time now then it's pretty obvious that she's my Waifu. So, I'm not gonna lie, I was kind of expecting.... No, I was anticipating this question. So, hmm.... How she became my Waifu.... Well, when I watched High School DxD back in 2017 I was a kid who was super horny. So, when I saw her and her perfection with her heavenly character design, Personality and voice acting. I just fell in love without a second to even process the scene in my mind.
Also because of

How has your journey been going in becoming the Biggest Weeb
So, I got to speak for myself huh...... Well, I certainly am happy for how far I've come. It's been a long time... 15 years surely felt like the blink of an eye. But personally, I think I overdid it. I think it’d have been better if I did more socializing as a kid instead of looking and staring at a screen. But I'm glad and even though I'm a bit sad about the choices I made to get here I don't regret it in the least. And no, I never thought I'd have come this far in my journey. I always thought to myself I'll change, I'll change, I'll socialize but I never did but it's fine. Since I get to be here and meet such amazing people within this community.
What drew you to Holo and to joining The Holoist Society
I still remember watching Spice and Wolf in 2013/2014 right after watching Golden time because I got it as a recommendation and goodness gracious, I ended up loving it as well as Holo. Ever since completing everything there was, I have been waiting for Season 3 but alas that never came to be and ever since the reboot/remake was announced I was wondering if there were people who were still anticipating for this anime which was over a decade old at this point and that is how I was able to find the Holoist society.
You've watched 2000+ days of anime and read 1000+ days of manga and LN's. How does one achieve such peak performance?
I will come out clean and honest, I have not watched 2K+ days of anime that said I'm not trying to fool or lie to people who come to visit my profile. The best way to explain my profile would be to say that it's very inaccurate and an exaggeration. And although I can't pin point how much I’ve seen I can say for sure that it I have watched more than the average user and seen around 50%-70% which is anywhere between 1000-1500days. The same thing applies for my Manga stats. And to answer your question, it all depends on the dedication and love you have towards the medium. It doesn't matter which media it may be anime, movies, TV shows, K-drama whatever it may be... Perseverance is all that matters, if you truly love something you will love to spend time with it. I was able to do that with anime, you should do it with whatever you feel makes you feel alive and give you purpose.
In your opinion what makes an anime good, what makes one a masterpiece and what makes one bad?
Well, Taste differs from person to person and my taste isn’t the best. What I am about to say may be true to some and may be absolute garbage to others but I’ll do my best to give my opinion in a very generic manner.
In my opinion a Masterpiece is basically any good anime with a little bit a bias. What makes an anime good? Well, we’re in 2022 now and any anime released relatively recently has no choice but to have stunning graphics, visuals, and animation. Missing out on this gives that anime a very less chance of potentially being “good”. Music is another important piece. Music holds every scene together and if an anime didn’t have a good Music set, it could end up very badly. Cast is something not everyone talks about but having a good cast with Voice Actors who genuinely like the role and want to give their all is another key aspect. And finally, the story telling…. Depending on if it’s an original or if it has a source making sure to be perfect to what it wants to portray is very important in making an anime good.
Of course, Missing out on any or in the worst-case scenario “all” of these will most likely make an anime quite a bad one which won’t be appeasing to watch.
Do you feel you have any anime takes that would be deemed controversial?
A particular anime take of mine which would not exactly be considered "Controversial" but is not something which a lot of people agree with is the fact that I think older anime pre-2000's are "generally" better than the modern counterparts. Keeping remakes and soft reboots aside, I'm talking about "Anime" only. For some reason I never really seem to be able to bond with newer animes (with a few exceptions) compared to some of the old ones for whatever reason I cannot seem to pinpoint. The amount of hard work put into each new anime seems very superficial and that the thoughtfulness put into each new anime just doesn't seem authentic. Whereas the older ones seem to be so well thought and done with the utmost of care and hard work by the studio. But well, I still respect and like newer media but at the end of the day I will always have that small bias.
What kind of music do you like to play and listen to? Also, favorite artists?
My taste in music is very moody. Depending on the mood I have at the moment I like different songs. When I’m perky and happy I listen to EDMs by Martin Garrix and Alan Walker and some NCS. When I’m motivated, I love listening to songs by The Score and Starset. When I’m feeling down, I listen to Jacob Lee and Nathan Wagner. But lately I just listen to whatever I get because I got the autoplay on. My fav song of all time will probably be If I Die young (I’ll link the video below) and if there was one song, I wish was my theme song It would be Alive – YOG$ (I’ll link this too). My favorite artist would probably be The Icarus Account. Those guys are on YouTube as well as on Spotify so I do encourage you to check out some of their top songs.

What do you like most about traveling and favorite place you visited?
I like travelling because I like learning more about different people, their culture, their surroundings, the way of life they had growing up, the food (NGL one of the main reasons), the language (As I am an ardent language learner). I don’t know if there’s more than those TBH. The favorite place I’ve visited would be Japan. I didn’t include it in the “Country I visited” earlier because I’m part Japanese and visiting Japan is less a travel thingy and more a family-relative meeting thingy but yeah. Japan has played a huge significant role in my life and having visited it several times I can say it is the best place I’ve been to and would love to settle there permanently someday in the future.
Anything you would like to say to our readers?
There’s a lot I could say, but one thing that I always say to myself and one thing my dad always tells me is “Live with Purpose”. Make sure that whatever you do, you do it to help yourself achieve a certain “Purpose”, “Dream”, “Goal” that you’ve set in mind for yourself. Don’t make it an impossible dream though. That’s pointless, rather make a dream you know you can achieve; it may be a hard one with a lot of determination and perseverance to achieve but keep it in mind and keep moving forward towards it with all that you have. And even if you reach it one day, don’t stop there…. Rest a while if needed but make another goal and move onto that as soon as you can and keep the fight on and on.
This was a very fun and interesting interview to read. Very cool with your grandma and Manga. I don't think you have to worry about the past in choosing anime over socializing. Still got lot of time.
Rias is one of the best and best girl in dxd. Your point on what makes an anime masterpiece. Totally true, however for me, it's all about waifus lol.
Martin garrix, wow that makes me back to 2014 with that animals song or whatever it's called lol
Travelling, really cool all places you been. Yes food is the best part especially Japan. Go to Japan for the anime stay for the food. Although I'm still about the anime, especially maid cafes :D
We're glad you joined The Holoist Society and support our cause in Holo Interviews
