Does Movie 1 necessary?

So i've heard ppl said the first movie was only a summary cut from the tv series, is there any new content that doesn't show in the tv or can i skip to the Movie 2 without losing any content?

you've heard right movie 1 is just a summary of tv series , story continues in movie 2

yep ,movie 2 continues right where they left in ep 12 of the series
I'm a monogatari enthusiast to the core...and i like some wholesome stuff too

Just watch the final minutes of the movie. That's the only thing new which didn't appear in the anime

this isnt really on topic but this is easily in my top 3 anime of ALL time and i wish there was another season because 12 episodes and a movie feels so short and so much stuff got left unanswered
