There is quite a lot yet to bw covered tbh, but it was pretty rushed at the end and it's weird for all I can say. great potential for sure.

Sorry for the bump but I figured better late than never.

The anime covers mainly volumes 1 through 4 of the LN series. Unfortunately the LN has never been officially translated, which is very unfortunate because I doubt there will be a second season (I'll elaborate later but there are some minor spoilers). There are fan-made TLs of varying quality though.

The adaptation is overall faithful to the original LN, though the LN has some elaborations. Still, I wouldn't say that it's absolutely required to read the first 4 volumes if you've watched the anime, however there are two notable changes:

MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD!

1. There's actually a spinoff LN called "Bokutachi no Remake ver. β". It's a slice of life LN featuring an alternate timeline where Kyouya never goes back 10 years and never attends the arts school. Instead he finds he's recruited into SucceedSoft by Kawasegawa, and the series mainly follows their work there. The first part of the first episode of the anime is actually based on the first chapter of Ver. β. In the original LN series Kyouya meets Kawasegawa for the first time only at school after the time leap, and therefore can't compare her with how he remembers her from the present.

2. The last 10 seconds of the anime, where you see Tsurayuki coming out of a movie theater and finding Kyouya waiting for him does not happen in the LN. Granted, so far I've only read through volume 5, but they don't meet again in that volume. I assume those last few seconds of the anime were some sort of closure that they needed, which is why I tend to believe that regretfully there won't be a second season.
