That was a very action packed episode though I am not sure what happened exactly. Let's see what's Miwa's blessing. I guess she wants to reach the ultimate coexistence with Festum?

I liked those reanimated iconic moments from season 1 in Kazuki's flashback.

Still no idea what's happening, but it seems like the battle is over now...right? There is still one more episode, so I guess that will be like an epilogue to tie up some loose ends and end the series on a upbeat note. The angela ED from last episode was used as an insert song for the battle between two of the protagonists to great effect (though their fight confused me more than anything else), and there was a new angela ED this episode which was also great. Just one more episode to go until the series is finished. Hoping for the best.

Seri doing damage.
Seri with the nice dodging.
Legato appears before Kazuki and copies him.
Soushi and Miwa break through.
Maris appears.
Soushi knocked out.

Since 2005 with Right of Left being 1 year after the 1st season in 2004, fans have had to wait years for the next Fafner series. Heaven and Earth in 2010: A 5 year gap. Exodus in 2015: A 4 year gap. And then The Beyond in 2019: A 3 year and a few months gap. Then having to wait between Beyond releases from 2019 to 2021. We started this series with Kazuki, the MC, in 2004. We went 2 months shy of 15 years with Kazuki being the MC. During the almost 15 years, I have loved Fafner with all of my heart. This series made me cry nonstop. It made me feel pain after seeing characters die. I have loved every second of every minute of every hour of every episode/special/movie of Fafner until 14:17 in this episode. What happened in that minute and second? They made Kazuki, the series MC, lose to this new Soushi, who just got in the robot like 1 month ago. It was at that very moment that all excitement was lost. It was at that moment that I felt nothing inside me, then I felt anger building up as the episode continued. They made Kazuki lose (to add more insult they made him tell new Soushi to assimilate him and new Soushi just made him look like a loser by telling him he's not worth that and to never stop him again), they gave Miwa a power up in Sein (Kazuki's former Mecha that he was literally Jesus in during Exodus) to beat Malespero then had new Soushi and Miwa fight Mitsuhiro with no Kazuki or OG/Exodus cast involved. What the fock was the point of this near 15 year journey with Kazuki as the MC before Beyond? If you look in the previous episodes of beyond (I think episode 2 or 3), I did mention that I noticed Soushi and Miwa were listed in the end credits ahead of Kazuki. I had no issue with it because maybe the staff decided to develop new Soushi before giving Kazuki his MC status back. Then a few episodes later, when Kazuki and Soushi were cooking, Soushi said Kazuki is calm because he's more powerful than everyone else (Yes, Soushi said he'd surpass him but who really believed that given that Kazuki is the series MC). Then Kazuki did an awakening and I said that it was fine that Kazuki isn't the MC in this because he's so OP that he'll get his MC status any time. I guess for once, I'm the focking clown. But is that my fault given the numerous years I've spent with the character? You and I both know that when you started Fafner, you never envisioned this happening, especially when Kazuki has been the MC for 15 years. Not just that, they had Miwa and new Soushi fight Mitsuhiro in Sein and Nicht and win when Kazuki and OG Soushi did what they did in them during Exodus. Yes, I couldn't help but see the past is surpassed by the future. The moment they made Kazuki lose (was the moment I lost hence why I feel this way), was the moment they threw away 15 years of development before Beyond. Not just for Kazuki, but for all the fans who started back then. All they had to do was make Kazuki win then make him understand Soushi's pov (he made a good point about repeating the "we have no other choice") then make him assist them (hence guide them to the future) then all 3 fight Malespero and Mitsuhiro. Instead, Kazuki is never seen again after he loses and the OG cast are nowhere in sight for the rest of the episode because it became the new Soushi and Miwa show. I have no issue with Miwa since she's been here since Heaven and Earth, but this mother f'er new Soushi just entered the series made everything Kazuki, OG Soushi, and the OG cast did seem so pointless. My heart just isn't in it to continue watching, but I finish what I start even if the next episode angers/hurts me further. Yes, I typed this pissed off and my anger is justified.

PS: new Soushi saw Maya's perfect body before Kazuki. Looking back, another L for Kazuki.
If you see that my post is exactly 1 month old (or more) from when it was posted... Don't waste your time, especially when you want to reply with something petty & insignificant. Assume that I've moved on (because I have).

Same.

Somehow get that Seed Destiny vibe of plot twist.
I'm not even sure if I understand the whole thing but basically the battle ends with the merciful Miwa Cult send their blessings to everyone.
I really wanted Kazuki to do more but he's hardly the main character since Exodus :/

Yeah I agree too. Kazuki should have more screentime.

Whoever wrote this episode must have been on such an acid trip I'm convinced they died before even finishing it. Whoever had to take over and write the last few minutes was as baffled and confused as we are and was just like, "Idk, Miwa was God all along or something."

Yeah no, you don't force your long standing main character to nonsensically job to a greenhorn brat who's got nothing going for him, not even any of the useful traits of his predecessor, that would grand a sliver of a possibility for such a win, and you absolutely don't sideline your long standing main character in favor of some literally who weak annoying female brat for the main villain battle. That's a recipe for trainwreck, and trainwreck did it turn into. Ugh.
