Lol, Erika better get used to how a lower class family lives. It seems Nagi is also trying to get used to being in Erika's presence since the two are so different. Erika's household is so damn rich.

I like Nagi's parents on most parts in this episode but Erika needs to be more open about her thoughts. Can't wait to see how these two will live together.

Quite hilarious how much these two take after their original parents, even though they never lived with them to begin with. At this point it’s kinda hard to imagine how their lives would've been if they weren’t switched at birth too.
Though anyways now living together for a whole two weeks... cringefest is about to start.

I honestly thought erika was gonna be butthurt by her parents laxness but I'm honestly surprised that she didn't act bitchy about them trying to make her feel welcome

These characters are frankly awful and have the ability to communicate of toddlers. Actually, wait, that's insulting to toddlers. At least they can cry and pitch a fit to express their feelings. These idiots just don't say anything at all.

Dropped.

I feel bad for this MC. It looks like this is one of those anime which every single character aim to turn the MC's life a living hell, and the worst part is he isn't even jerk enough so we can have fun at his expense.

The male MC spent the whole episode being flustered and acting like an idiot. I had more hope for this series after the first episode which I felt was promising.

I felt the author wanted to convey how they still were essentially strangers to each other and now took the first step of getting to know each other by dropping the preconceptions. It turned out a bit too hamfisted.

Now that we've got that introduction out of the way let's hope the next episode turns out more interesting.

Hiro's just as cute as Erika so can't blame Nagi. Looks like Sachi isn't too thrilled at her brother being replaced. Kinda amusing that Erika waited outside the door all this time. Still even given the social difference sitting on a bookcase is kinda unusual in itself. The difference between their two houses really is like day and night. Erika though sure has a lot of dogs. But man Nagi's dream of Erika's fight really was one hell of a imagination. After so long its understandable that Erika finds it hard to bond with her true parents who might as well be total strangers to her. In the end im glad that Erika's fear was unfounded. Looks like the relationship between the two would be advancing by another step by living together. Overall a slow ep but one that focused on expanding upon Erika and Nagi's characters and looking at the complex feelings that lay beneath them. Would be curious to see how Sachi see's Erika.

Yea I can tell this is gonna be my KanoKano of the season where people shit on it for being trashy but I still enjoy. Absolutely loving the humour and vibes of this show so far. Nagi’s parents are hilarious. Looking forward to meeting the other girls

Anyway, it's still pretty fun. I like Erika and I'm kinda looking forward to the living together shenanigans that are bound to happen.

KanoKano is intentionally satirical. It is supposed to be outrageous and ridiculous; none of the characters' actions are supposed to make any sense.

This, on the other hand, is trying to take itself seriously. And it's failing, hard.

I really just don't see how you can compare the two.

KanoKano was well-written and extremely entertaining. People that trashed KanoKano clearly were misunderstanding the purpose of the series.

This series, meanwhile, is just bad writing. It's one thing to intentionally make all your characters inept (KanoKano) when you stick to it. But here, the characters already appear inept, when it's pretty clear that the author isn't intending for them to be completely helpless/stupid.

As expected Erika is not used to living in a regular Japanese home with little space compared to mansion she lives. Erika wanted to give Nagi's fake parents a piece of her mind, but how could she after her biological parents were so nice to her. Meanwhile Nagi was preparing to call the engagement of when Erika's fake father appeared to tell that both Erika and Nagi would be living together for two weeks Saichi doesn't seem to be happy that her biological sister is getting close to her step brother Nagi.

Oh, I'm sure you read it. You seemed to have the mistaken impression that everyone that criticized this show would call it trashy. Well, I don't think it's trashy, I think it's narratively a mess.

I had such low expectations for this show that it keeps pleasantly leaping over. Is it kind of cliche? Sure, but it's got good production values, that cannot be denied, and the foundation's being laid for something interesting. it's probably going to take a few more episodes of set-up, but this has two whole cours, so it can afford to take its time. Not everyone has the patience for that, but I like the production and it seems more lived in and like the characters are actual people than, say, Shikimori.

Didn't like the first episode, probably because I was expecting something more. But now that I know what it is, it's not that bad actually. It's not quite a dumpster-fire (yet at least, it probably will become one eventually, and I will welcome it with open arms), but it's still quite a bit of fun even though it hasn't crossed that threshold. I don't find it as annoying as Nisekoi, and has a much better production quality than Domestic Girlfriend, which are the two anime I think it's most comparable to.

I thought this was going to be my first drop of the season, but nope, I'm going all the way baby.

The freaking contrast between Nagi and Erika's houses lmfao, her inability to understand how things worked there was hilarious.

"I'm rich, losers", Umino can't see himself living the way she does haha, it really makes you wonder how absurdly different life would be for both characters if the swap hadn't happened.

Wholesome episode, all of his worries about Erika going crazy (I loved his imagination of things going wild between her and his former delinquent parents haha) turned out to just be that, because in reality all Erika wanted was to be close to what in pretty much any other timeline was going to be the parents who would have raised her. Seeing them happily eat together made me smile so much.

And wild development at the end, I guess they are living together now! This dad is a bag of surprises.

KanoKano is intentionally satirical. It is supposed to be outrageous and ridiculous; none of the characters' actions are supposed to make any sense.

This, on the other hand, is trying to take itself seriously. And it's failing, hard.

The only hilarious scene I found was the large amount of dogs she owned.

But it's still an interesting take from your perspective. In terms of development, and bonding.

Nagi and Erika's sudden betrothal certainly throws Nagi for a loop, considering his duel against Hiro Segawa.

The distinction between both the poor and rich families of each other, it's certainly telling of their upbringing i.e. when Erika got a shock that Nagi's house is just a small and cramped one, and Nagi also got a shock that his original family is THAT rich. They aren't living in the same world that fits directly with their circumstances.

Erika going straight to the source (a.k.a their family diner) to attack her real parents for the mix-up, that would be a proposition that Nagi didn't want happening, much less Erika being forced to get used to the commoner's life and the hospitality of the both of them. It's just a misunderstanding that she finally got to see her real family after so long and have dinner together, that's really heartwarming to see.

No surprise that Nagi's real family also knows that both Nagi and Erika's marriage isn't a solidified relationship yet, but it's growing...and it starts with their communal living together for 2 weeks.

I'm rich, losers. Imagine what a contrast of a life it would be.

It was a fun episode. Nagi out here acting all flustered throughout the whole episode while Erika just can't seem to be honest; not the best duet but okay. Damn I was hoping we get to see more of Segawa this week but that didn't happen.

The only legit good character so far is Sachi, as she handles the situation realistically.

I went and read the second chapter of the manga and it seems like they are adapting 1 chapter per episode. Hope we're not going forward at snail pace.

At least A Couple of Cuckoos is funny. KanoKano, despite it claiming to be comedic, is not.
