Looks like a time skip to at least 3+ years ahead. It seems a lot also has changed in the city and they didn't waste much time jumping right into the fight and action.

Hiyori's introduction to this season is impressive. I'm curious what kind of important role that Kikka girl will play although so far I'm not that impressed yet. Going to be an action packed season if it follows this momentum.

The 2nd Cour of Build-Divide, continuing from the events of the 1st Cour back in Fall.

3 years after the events of Code Black, Neo Tokyo has fallen, and Kikka certainly is powerless now without her deck of cards, given how Teruto sacrificed his life for hers to be King. Now, with the King's servants called KUGE to enclose people into barrels as the King's vessels, Hiyori has definitely taken Teruto's place in his regard, and she's grown immensely with maturity following his tracks in Part 1.

The same TCG battle is here, and what can I say, it's the same as Part 1, And Kikka, she will take Hiyori's place in this journey.

A decent re-start into Build-Divide.

It shows Kika three years after what happened in the tower with Telt, Kika blaming herself and being a little depressed, as well as the evolution of Hiyori in Build Divide, Kika becoming king. A tribute, she ran away

Hiyori being badass is good to see. Egoist openings just continue to impress and I'm waiting for the visuals

Now girls take leading roles, but I don't worry because male monsters are still as hot and revealing as ever!
3 new card game anime in this season, this one, and Shadowverse Flame and YGO Go Rush.

I won't lie, I'm a bit disappointed that Kikka got turned into a bawling, helpless mess as I thought she was the most entertaining character by far in the first season. I'm also not entirely sold on Hiyori becoming so jaded she's lost all her energy. Aside from that, though, this was an excellent first episode- it does a great job of hooking you into the plot and the setting has become more interesting than it already was. It also feels like a nice escalation from how the previous season ended, and it kind of needed it because the previous season's overall plot was more than a little weak.

I'm optimistic for this show so far, but we'll have to wait and see how it develops.

Feels like there's going to be a lot of rinse repeat here but the new setting and the 2 leads dynamic might be interesting

Build Divide is back and with a very strong start! To be honest I feel this was even better than Code Black's start. They managed to build the new setting, set up the arcs for the new main characters and show a decent duel all in one episode. I like the idea of the king having mercenaries trying to hunt down people and put them in barrels to steal their magic energy. It beats doing the Rebuild battle all over again which is what I feared they would repeat as this season's plot. I also hope they continue to delve into the magic aspect since we have seen it portrayed several times now and I want to know how it connects to the card game in the larger scheme of things. Hiyori is a lot better than I expected her to be. Her calmness/coolness is a nice change of pace from how cheerful (sometimes to the point of annoyance) she was 3 years prior, but she's not so far gone that she's lost hope and can't smile which I love. She's lost her "big sister" in Sakura and her "master" in Teruto so by all means she is justified in being depressed but she keeps moving forward betting on hope which is so on point for her character. Kikka is interesting too and I like the direction they're going with by breaking her down and making her feel vulnerable, which is a stark contrast to last season where her character was kind of shallow and one-dimensional. It's an extremely unorthodox and fresh change of pace having two female protagonists succeed the traditional male protagonist you never see in TCG anime.

WTH, 3 years have gone, Neo tokyo have fallen. Kikka, the previous king who was all high and mighty have fallen into deep despair, and is hunted by the new King,s henchmen.
Hiyori is now taking the lead with a strong deck. The roles are pretty much reversed now, will the girls save Teruto, just as Teruto and Sakura saved Kikka 3 years ago? I am intrigued!

omg! based from the S1, what happened was reverse, Teruto went to the other side but this time, Kikka went to the real world with of course Hiyori which is also became more awesome and stronger!
So this is more like Hiyori taking care/partnering with Kikka in the quest of saving the two main from S1! i like the set-up of that!
5/5.

Good to see Hiyori again but I like her pure personality from the previous season... ...oh what happened to the lovely Hiyori. Hope to see more of her later episodes. Though, I'd like to know the detailed explanation of that 3 years gap like everyone else. The animation was greatly done, I think, when compared to the previous season.

Kikka's voice is somehow cute now... I like it!
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Nice to see how the once weak Hiyori has now become an absolute badass, although I kinda miss her innocent and adorable personality of s1.
