Ao Ashi and Blue Lock are currently the top Football manga but honestly I think story wise Be Blues is much better and down to earth with 0 over the top abilities. It's pretty realistic when it comes to progression and I love it and it sadness me that it's barely known, what do y'all think is the reason for it?

Probably the translation.
It's not licensed in English , and the fan-translation started only in 2018 when the Manga started in 2011...
It also doesn't have any Anime adaptation beside a short CM that doesn't seems well liked.

In my opinion , Giant Killing deserves more.

Yh like the guy above said, the fact that it ain’t officially translated into English is a big obstacle. Also just cos it ain’t doing well in the west doesn’t mean it isn’t popular in Japan. And although being realistic should be appreciated more, people tend to lean towards making unrealistic sports manga with op characters (or any genre) because it attracts a larger audience, however I’d say that ao ashi is still also pretty realistic. Personally haven’t read this, but I also reckon a lot of blue lock’s popularity comes with the brilliant art (I’m assuming it’s much better than this), hot takes on football, interesting philosophies discussed, a fresh premise in the world of sports manga and the fact that the author is already very well known.

Agreed, you don’t see the managers viewpoint being focused on very often.

Edit: oops seems like I made a mess out of the quoting thing

Be Blues is quite popular in Japan but the sales is still low. If it's really good, japanese people will buy it like with Ao Ashi who is not that known in the west until the anime announcement but still sold 10 million copies. Same with giant killing who sold millions too despite being under appreciated in the west.

If i remember correctly, Be Blues has an anime but only 1 episode right? I wonder why they didn't continue it it's been decades. I also remember back then they said it's because be blues is not selling well despite having so many volumes.

But if we get an anime, that'll be good. Atleast Be Blues is better than blue lock in my opinion. Blue Lock is just famous for its good art style but in football aspect and storyline, it's so down.

Ao Ashi is by far the most exciting and interesting football manga I've ever read. It's simply excellent in every aspect. Blue Lock is enjoyable too and has a very good art style which made it popular. Both these series is really unique and interesting in their own series. They're both having a different approach in football that makes readers wanting more. And i think the hype they're getting is well deserved.

Be Blues is good too of course. It's actually popular in Japan and in West. It became popular before ao ashi and blue lock when captain tsubasa and giant killing got an anime because football became the talk of the town. People want be blues anime too that time and I'm one of them i remember. But the talk about be blues suddenly died because of the new gen series that aired.

It is serialized in Shogakukan's weekly shounen sunday. Meaning, it already has an English release. And yes, it has because I also bought it. But I don't know why it's still doesn't have an anime. Some says because of it's complicated art style (which i doubt cuz ive seen more complicated art styles before), some says because of the production problem (they said we almost got an anime back then but it got cancelled I don't know why), some says it's because it doesn't sell well despite having so many volumes and some says it's because the author doesn't want to cuz it will ruin the story. I'm not sure.

But let's see. Maybe we will still have an anime someday it's never too late. More football series, the better.

It's just a 30-second Commercial video made to promote the Manga.
