I was planning to watch komi san after it completed airing in netflix. But I heard some stuff about netflix not providing proper subtitles. Some people also say that it isn't that important but others say this lack of providing subs ruin the show. So I am here confused. Can you guys help me out?

The subs for Netflix isn't that bad I noticed that their trying to fix it when watching, But They don't translate everything on screen. Go for Fansubs if you can

I would recommend going on sites like gogoanime and 9anime as then u will have the best experience with the show

Netflix subs are bad, also for Najimi, idk about other countries, but in my country they used neuter pronoun 💀 that's just braindead

I have netflix too.I have seen komi san on netflix and noticed whats being displayed isnt what the character is saying.This lead me to switching to fan subs.The overall anime viewing experience on netlflix isnt pleasant.

of course subplease wouldn't have proper typesetting, its just a rip from official services like netflix and crunchyroll. in that case you could either ask around for the best release, look on the comments of the torrent or use these spreadsheets

I just want to say I watched it all on netflix unaware of the supposed improper translations and I still found it enjoyable nonetheless. but thats just me, if you want the most authentic version go watch it somewhere else

It's crazy how you just can't enjoy the anime for what it is. I'm sure a few mistranslated words doesn't affect the show. It's literally a slice of life anime lol

it doesn't make sense to me...people who are complaining about mistranslations...just learn Japanese, then you will have the exact way it was intended. otherwise don't bitch about it!

Netflix doesn’t translate everything that it on the screen. It’s so frustrating to miss out on key moments of the show because the subtitle format on Netflix doesn’t allow it to be in the middle of the screen. It does translate it sometimes but it’s very quick in the subtitles because a character starts speaking. But yeah, we do miss out on what’s happening in the scene as Komi-san has a lot of text bubbles in their show.
