People shouldn't doubt her just because she's like a child though. |

| Re-watching: I think I'm starting to get why I enjoyed this show so much back when I first watched it. This episode did a great job introducing the theme of death, in a way that focuses on the character's emotions, and not in an obvious attempt to make the audience sad. This goes hand in hand with the subtle ways they incorporate a tense and somber feeling in the fictional world: namely the radio broadcasts that list the number of dead and missing which plays over the scenes of normal daily and school life. Setoguchi's all of a sudden really serious remark, hit home, and I think the joke that came after fit really well into the scene. What I'm saying is the writing in this show is pretty damn good. |
