Title of the chapter------The Boxer!

J is one of the, if not the coolest characters i have ever seen.

It's so crazy that some got fooled in first chapter of the series by who the chosen prodigy will be, and that ALL OF US got fooled by WHO THE BOXER TITLE REFFERED TO!!!

It was not our Boxer, it was YU's boxer and saviour!!

Props to author for doing heck of a job!

I personally loved and hated the recent fight in many ways. First of all, if this is the climax, it’s a bit disappointing, because the author built up the school characters right from the start, implying that they would play an important role later on. Jay ended up having one of his fights shown, and hadn’t had a single scene with yu after he became a boxer, or at least there were so few that I can’t remember. Ryu was always shown to be an evil guy, and I thought it would be good if they could build up to a fight between him and yu, because he was also supposed to be very gifted. The author kept showing snippets of ryu, like when he was imprisoned etc as if he trying to drop Easter eggs for their fight, but again, nothing major has happened with him and since this was the climax, it’s safe to say he ain’t coming back. My second problem is with J himself. If he’s ‘god’ or at least a perfect do-gooder, why did he neglect a child who was evidently going through so much suffering and just give him a crappy talk about stars which was supposed to inspire and save him. If he took him in, or at least help him fix his life, he would’ve been able to partly prevent all the suffering yu has been going through all these years, and also stop him from fatally injuring several opponents. Third, I thought the relationship between carmen and yu was brilliant, lovers but not quite there yet because of yu’s emotional barrier, but then she backs away just cos she’s fired from her job!? If she truly lived him, she would’ve been by his side even after that, not leaving it up to a bunch of hopeless people to help him out. Also, we keep hearing that takeda wants to help yu, but he hasn’t even approached him once since their fight ended. All throughout I’ve thought this manhwa was amazing, and the final fight itself was good, but I thought it was a bit underwhelming that all he did was lightly punch yu in the face and say ‘it’s okay’ and that’s somehow supposed to make all of yu’s problems go away, wtf. He’s literally lost all the people he cared about, even his goddamn cat. His mum hung herself and pnly true friend died alone at a young age of cancer. He’s been bullied and abused for the majority of his life, the only person he’s ever been able to love since he was young, left him and never returned, and to top it all off he’s being used as a machine without any care towards what he could be feeling yet all this supposed ‘hero’ could do was say everything is ok??? I seriously love this manhwa, it’s probably one of the only anime/manga out there that’s able to do a perfect mix between psychological and sports, aswell as adding several other aspects perfectly like drama and romance, and it will always be one of my favourites, but I think my immense love for this serious papered over the cracks, and I didn’t want to dwell too much on the imperfections, but there comes a point where it’s too much and you have to fully realise that in most cases, no matter how much you want something to be perfect, it never will be.

You cannot even call this a boxing manga anymore, it's just full of life lessons. Is there even a meaning for our existence in this world or is there not? One might know the answer, the other one is struggling to find one. J saw a poor, lonely and small boy in the ring. One that needed someone to save him from the loneliness he was placed in. It's just beautiful how he endured all the pain for 12 rounds and gave him a tick on his head in the end. We don't know what happend to him but hopefully he's travelling the earth and K is bestowed as the biggest loser on earth. Hopefully Yu and Carmen are together even though it feels wrong because she didn't try to go back to him. He needs someone.
