Movie 9 : Mirai Fukuin & 10 : Extra Chorus are just bonus , but they are really good , and Mirai Fukuin can helps you to understand a sentence said at the end of 7. For the confusing part , depends on what you are talking about. The watch order is simple : 1 to 10. The story however , is way more confusing , especially since it's in a non-linear order. If you are fan of the Mystery genre , Kara no Kyoukai is so much better than Fate , it's not even a competition. However , the Action genre fans will enjoy Fate way more. |

But you'll most probably need a re-watch (or multiples) , or read explanations of fans to get all the subtilities present everywhere , especially because of the metaphores used. (Movie 1 lost a huge chunck of people with the Flying vs Floating of Tôko) Overall , most peoples get the story of Movie 1-5 with Movie 5 , but a lot doesn't really understand the character of Mikiya , or the stakes of Movie 7. (Movie 6 is a little bit disconnected of everything else , 9 is a bonus story while 10 is short scenes about some characters that appeared in the previous Movies.) But well , it's a story from the Nasuverse of Kinoko Nasu , so it's not surprising at all that it's a little bit confusing. |

Beside that , Movie 6 altered the story of the Boukyaku Rokuon Arc. But at this point , it's extremely unlikely to get an adaptation/remake of those. paradospir said: there's also Gate of Seventh Heaven which is a recap, I'd recommend watching that too before movie 8, it adds some scenes and shows everything in the order that they happened which would clear some confusion. It shows "just" 1-6 in order. It's supposed to be the ultimate hyping/build-up Movie before the 7 , but if you pay attention to the dates in each Movies while watching them back-to-back/in a short span of time , he's not necessary. |
