First off I highly recommend deleting this question for... well you know why. Secondly, it looks like it is gonna be a recap followed by a continuation with the story. That cliffhanger was huge so a movie might be all this series needs to for a conclusion (note: I have not read the manga, this is purely a guess based from the trailer.)

it's an original series so it's not gonna adapt from an adaption(manga is the adaption of the anime)
