| I feel bad for Jing Xuan - In this episode he's experienced first hand the praise of the other family elders to an extent which was never seen from his previous life as son of the outcast Sheng patriarch. (From my understanding) So he's on edge at the response from the Siliang island residents - I appreciate the fact that the writers made it so even though he loathed young master Xiang Yu/Ji he still saved him by distorting the inclusive cube's blueprints. I probably would have done it differently; I would have chosen to stay in seclusion right from the beginning of the conversation just because it makes sense for his mysterious appearance to be backed up with that type of expectation. Now I'm really enjoying this series, it has quite a few flaws but the characters are different - they each have their own struggles which is clearly displayed throughout the series. (Xu Daughter's struggle is arranged inheriting marriage, Xiang Yu/Ji struggle is his family's imprisonment, Tu Li's struggle is her father, Jing Xuan's struggle is his parents and attraction to Tu Li and so forth. Looking back at it now, it seems all the characters struggle from family issues wtf even the immortal gods suffer from mortal family issues it's really interesting. Not sure if it ties into the story but it is an interesting thought. nice episode ~ |
