| When do we think season 3 will be announced or will it get one? Surely this anime is popular enough to get a 3rd season right? And usually shows that get 2 seasons get a 3rd.. Kind of shocking that shield hero got a 3rd season already announced amongst some other isekai or anime worse than it already have seasons announced.. |

| Honestly, that is a great question, considering that the manga pacing is super slow ( less than a chapter a month ) it could take a very long time. But there will be a movie released and because of the manga pacing, i don't think that they will be announcing S3 after the airing of the movie. |

The thing I dislike about the movie format is that if you don't live in Japan or in some cases the US or Canada, you have to wait for 6 months in ordwr to watch said movie. It's one of the highest selling isekai light novels from what I've heard |

The manga and the anime was pretty much on the same part of the novel concurrently for around 2 weeks before the anime overtook the manga, so it's hard to imagine the manga being the source for this season. Never once did the anime get past the manga. Not once. Neither in S1 nor S2. The LN is sometimes used as a source for the early anime pre-production because they need to have that done too soon, which is why both for S1 and S2 the early part of the seasons have more manga material and the later parts of each season have more LN material. I suspect the movie is used to create a buffer so that future seasons can safely use the manga as a source, which frankly speaking should have been done much sooner, but I guess better late than never But to make one thing clear... The LN is the main source so it doesn’t really matter if they caught up to the manga Both the credits and official website credit the manga as the source, so you are objectively wrong. The official source of the anime is the manga, even if for deadline reasons sometimes the LN needed to be used as a secondary source. However in comparison the manga is far more important, because it sells over 400k physical copies while within the rankings. |

Why do you guys keep insisting otherwise when the producers themselves literally tell you the source in the anime? I just don't get all of you... |
