I think that author should respect the readers and should correct the ending of the series.every reader of this series is only disappointed with its ending.so at least author should respect it's reader who invested there money in reading his novel and he should correct the ending of the series insted of being hated by its fans.at lest changing the ending of light novel will not spoil the manga which is still ongoing.
Whether author change its ending of series or not.for us emi is there real queen for our devil kingđź’–

I don't like the ending, and I'd definitely punch the author in the gut if I met him and if I don't get thrown in jail, but he can do whatever he wants, it's his story for a reason. There's a great arc in Bakuman where a manga author took hundreds of people's opinions to create the perfect manga, it didn't end well because it had no identity. If the author bent to the will of the people, why would he create his own work in the first place?

And that's the thing. Don't take solutions or alternatives from those who are not in the same team or do not have the same vision. But, consumers are very good at pointing out problems. There is definitely a problem with the ending, but it's not up to us to decide how to solve that, because 99% of our solutions will be dogshit.

Man the harem ending is like the perfect win.. Plus you don't want to risk a do over in the age of the edgelord and or "bittersweet" trash ending fad!

While who's 1st does bug me quite a bit.. My bigger issue is the loss of his powers. This is a trope world/fiction wide in modern times that I hate the most. "give up the power" or "throw away the power" It pretty much seems like a mandate in fiction.. and particularly in anime/manga now. And always when involving the real world.

This is not a fan work. Fan didn't deserve to said that to author. Author deserve to make any ending they want. This is that author's light novel. Not fans! So, shut the hell up. If you don't like that ending, go make your own light novel.

Well good luck to that author having sales for his current work.

I'm annoyed and pissed off at the authors decision, although I still have to respect this since it is his work afterall not ours. But then again he should had thought of the consequences, I've seen so many hates towards this series many times and I also heard rumors that the author received DEATH THREATS. I don't know what the author was thinking back then but he reap what he sow, so many flags and development were shown towards Maou and Emi just for him to waste it all at the end.

For the Author to respect the readers, the readers themselves have to respect the author's decision first.

how we know it was the author decision the manga industry is notorious with changes coming from editors and producers. Even anime, these manga get anime adoptions they change some things the editors and sometimes the author like the change. DB is the most famous one how it changes all the time.

it's his story, if you don't like the ending you can complain (from what i've heard it is terrible, and i'm dropping the LN because of that vol 17), but that's it, it's his story, he has 0 obligations because it is his story.

i think the ending is bad and i'm dissapointed, but that's it, the most you can do is share your oppinion.

Woah woah woah, not cool! People sending death threats?! Everyone needs to chill!! I understand that fans may not like it, but at the end of the day, this is his creation, his work, his story. If youre unsatisfied, go make your own fanfic ending!! I hope he changes the ending in the new anime season, but if it doesnt work out, its fine. We shouldnt be entitled as fans.
