People asked me where I read certain thing but the rules say no telling where did you read so maybe I am too boring for not saying? Or salty because you didn't check my profile that says don't ask because I hate people to ghost me after that. I love learning languages so maybe I did not read the manga in English. |
| mixed feelings about this manga... on the one hand i enjoyed the silly, cutesy comedy and all the different characters with their unique appearances and personalities, on the other hand i was deeply disappointed when the author got experimental and introduced some more serious things in a couple of chapters- like Wakasa's new appearance and sudden water-powers when the "mad scientist" was about to kidnap him, and then never went anywhere with all of that. same with the most recently introduced character, who got one chapter and was then gone and done- after parting the sea and, my guess, trying to help MC get rid of his fear of slimy things (those tentacles were everywhere). in a sense, i would have liked for this manga to be much longer, or the author making a continuation where they'd add some story-arcs with a more serious tone, while exploring or expanding on character backgrounds and powers that were introduced in this manga. like, i would LOVE to know more about Wakasa's ability to control water and his scales spreading when he's furious. i'd want to know more about his past, and why he's so okay with living in a tub when he could be out in the ocean. i'd want to know about best boi Agari, how he and Wakasa met and became friends, and since the rest of the gang seemed to really fear him when he was first introduced, i'd want to know if he had any closer friends out in the sea. i was really hoping that we'd find out what MC did that his uncle's blackmailing him about, and that whole bomb during the time-travel chapter with Wakasa's immortality, i really wish the author had expanded on that too, so i kind of also would have wanted the author to stick to the more simple format with just silly, fun cuteness, them adding in these little sprinkles of serious and interesting themes and elements just made me wish they'd made another manga with the same characters... overall though, i watched this anime back in 2019-somewhere, and wanted to read the manga since, i learned about Agari back then, which only spurred on my wish and want to read, since i really like sharks, but it was so expensive until fairly recently (the places i looked at least), somehow, even though the only thing i knew about him was "appears in the manga" and "doesn't speak cuz it scares people", Agari ended up my favorite character, and after spending the weekend reading, he definitively is my favorite coming out of this manga. |
