This was horrible... It was bad..... It 100% deserved the score it has. BUT why did the wonder egg priority main series score go down when this came out?

I could understand that this and the main series are connected but then why didnt the promised neverland season 1 score go down when the 2nd season aired?

I suppose it made some reflect on the series and it's quality, and I bet some gave it a high score hoping everything that had been set up wouldn't be for nothing but would instead be explained and used well in this last episode, which didn't really happen

Because the main series has no end. There's no point in giving a high rating to a show without an ending that failed to deliver a satisfying journey that could make the ending irrelevant. In an anime where the ending is supposed to make some sense of the story, the journey becomes irrelevant instead.

It's original, so no one cared about it in the first place. Promised Neverland is a manga, so people might just admire the quality of the anime adaptation.

This was actually the final episode for the season. It got delayed due to production issues (which is why we also got the impromptu recap episode). They spun it off like it’s some “special” episode. But it was the final episode of the season all along. Just delayed so they could actually finish it.

By extension it’s part of the first season and should reflect that accordingly. But even if you omit the disaster that was the season finale (this episode), the rest of the season had a noticeable downturn around midway to 3/4 way through the season.

it was supposed to be the final episode of season one actually. Doesn’t really make sense to brand it a special and shit it out when it doesn’t actually explain the story. I truly wonder if a season 2 will exist at some point because this anime desperately needs to explain the whole thing it set up

Kinda sad cause this series was actually really good. Idk if I want to watch this cause I don’t want the main series ruined. I was so hoping this show would be super good

I really liked the first few episodes and i thought it started going down hill towards the end. I thought the villains were not consistent with the beginning and it seemed very “make it up as we go”(talking about the anime). I think a lot of people expected the special episode to tie all the unanswered questions together but it never really happed and left me even more confused..

i think frill would be nice….if it was separate. to me it just seemed like out of nowhere they decided to cram practically a whole other story into a pre-existing one that was already declining in quality. the dreamworld part said fuck it and just decided to add another layer while forgetting the other 2.

Honestly I liked the first season, it was okay. But the special episode was just a joke. Everyone that watched the first season and actually enjoyed it was expecting a banger special episode which was not delivered. A big let down, also I’m pretty sure they recapped the series twice. I think one was episode 6 and the second was in the special.
