I actually liked season 1 more than 2. It gotta a little hazy towards the end of season 2. But the series as a whole is far different than ashita no Joe or Hajime no ippo so anyone that compares to the two isn’t playing with a full deck.

First impression: wow I love the OST, I might like Megalo Box more than Hajime no Ippo

Final impressions: the fights are nowhere near as good as Ippo's; moreover, the plot and the characters could have been fleshed out better with two cours

I think season 1 was alright but The OST really did push some scenes into them being wayyy better than they should be.
Also Season 2 is soo good its deserves an 8.3 on ratings.

right ! Anj and megalobox are different than hajime no ippo . Although all 3 are shounen animes , anj and megalo went in deeper and darker topics about boxing , the consequences and all that

I see your point bro...but let me be honest...the show itself is good and had a great impact...but for me I just cant find it interesting because the show lack something that idk...I cant describe it

People have different opinion, you just gotta accept that. With that being said, for me, I went in with the exception that it's so good that it's revolutionary (people keep hyping and saying how underrated it is) and i'd have like really like if I cared for the characters. It felt like arrogant people playing for their ego (if it's your thing, good on you). S2 on the other hand was good

Thing about this anime is that it doesn't fully comprehend sports anime dynamics. The final fight (S1) is beyond underwhelming. And tbh, it doesn't fully comprehend drama anime dynamics as well. Ashita no Joe, the story Megalo Box is based on, is way better, even when is 50 years old.
