Although the anime is tons of fun it employs all the retarded and outdated mecha tropes: the independent modules, the long series of commands and so on . As a result I though it would be fun to see which mecha you think is more realistic from the anime you saw.
My vote is for Megas XLR.

There is no such thing as a realistic mecha in anime, they've always been incredibly unrealistic. Even the most "real" ones like Votoms, Muv Luv, etc. have their fair share of very unrealistic stuff. It's literally no dumber and unrealistic than your usual shonen or fantasy isekai antics. I mean it's anime man, we come for that ridiculous stuff.

Also these tropes have been used forever, and will continue to be used in the genre. I'm cracking up at the idea of Megas XLR being considered realistic to you, considering it's basically a super robot that relies on cartoon physics like Megaton here and well 99% of mecha anime in general.

I agree there is a level of unrealistic in any mecha anime. The reason why I considered it realistic is because if you remove all the buttons that are there just for entertainment purposes is doable with todayțs technology. Most of it anyway. Also having a computer control most functions and the pilot just giving simple commands as you would with a joystick is much more realistic then having to press and turn a dozen knobs just to get the thing to move.
About is relying on cartoon physics... not as much as you think. If you watched the anime it really does not for most time. The only cartoon physics it employs is 'is bigger on the inside trope' in that you cannot fit as many different guns in one single robot. But apart from that is pretty realistic from my pov.
