| What was the point of giving characters' names of planets in official translation (both anime and manga)? It doesn't add anything and it's confusing since all characters say names that are completely different than japanese names of planets. Also there is no consistency since few characters have their original names. |

| The designers' names are actually based off the names of the planets, if you look at the kanji. They share a kanji with a planet, eg. 海原 (Unabara) has 海 as in 海王星 (Neptune). However I do agree that this is a stupid localisation decision and more distracting than anything. Ueda and Shimoda also have parallels with their names with the up and down kanji respectively, and also Yokota with the kanji for side. But again this is something that doesn't really have a deeper meaning and has no need to be localised, and the localisation team rightly didn't. |
