I don't know if this has been pointed out before or not, but at least the written language in this show is just italian with pointy letters. At minimum the examples in the latest episode are that way. Just thought this was pretty funny, as I just figured it would just be some made up language

...that is, of course, only when it's not japanese writing. But if you look closely, all writing that's clearly not characters is italian.
Edit: I just checked episode two and the writing on the scrolls seems more messy and pointy than what you see later in the show. I couldn't figure out if that was italian or not

I think it’s most likely Italian I don’t speak Italian but Liscia name translate to Smooth from Italian

Honestly the only people who create entirely new languages for their properties, are Tolkien, or the fans of Star Trek

There was actually a Role Playing game with custom languages - Empire of the Petal Throne. Of course the designer was a professor of Linguistics - M. A. R. Barker. He also wrote 5 books set in the same world.

Not so much time on his hands, as it was his specialty and could be considered his job.
A Professor of Math like my father will spend his spare time doing things that involve math.
A Professor of Linguistics will spend spare time studying or designing languages.

that‘d be quite an interesting detail. Perhaps this might be shown later in the show. It most likely doesn‘t mean anything though haha
