Haruo thought, "The simple talks simple."

But, don't you think that the little sister is actually right? That grown ups are horny and dishonest and so (unnecessarily) damn complicated.

People love to overcomplicate things with pride, with lust, with ambitions, with vague egotistical dreams and goals, and so on and so forth. Grown-ups are just oh so unnecessarily dramatic. I love dramas but many times, these dramas are causing painful & stressful experiences in many people's lives. Sometimes they even end up in absurd or unacceptable tragedies.

(People who read this "rant" of mine might think that I'm consuming some kind of drug. Nope, I'm actually reading this chapter and typing all this while listening to the first movement from Dvorak's Symphony No. 9 "From the New World")

But, yeah.. Haruo is correct. Princesses in our times are among those "grown-ups" too..

The hamburger set metaphor still rings true even today.. We still don't have a better realistic alternative to capitalism.. Where nobody is only as worthy as that boring hamburger set. Where each and every person can shine.. I really am such a fool. Writing all this in this silly anime site LOL

Also, we still have to answer, what is croc in this story? Most likely, like the summary of this manga said, croc represents a part of her own dignity, her own authentic side, her "Self". As long as I've got croc, I'm okay, she said. It could represent her wild side or it could also represent her deepest feelings.

You know that some people truly believe that we have to be the master of our own fate? I can never be like them. Maybe because I was blessed with "sufficient-cy" all my life. I have never felt that I had given my best, not even once. Maybe it's my high standards, but I truly believe it's because I have always been blessed with adequacy all my life. And in all my adequacy, I witnessed that everything simply bends under the supremacy (or perhaps tyranny) of Destiny, of the Universe, or yes, of Chances/Probabilities/Coincidences if you may.

Someday My Prince Will Come is among the most recorded jazz standards. It's such a catchy and beautifully sentimental tune, which is perfect for jazz.

That song is a perfect example that a prince is not something that you can get by being the master of your own destiny. You can get a prince but not a prince. And most people are yearning for a prince, not just a prince.

Someday~ My prince will come~

@butnotforme That crocodile represents her childhood belief in fairy tales. She compares him to a little dinosaur, and she's very protective of him. So even if she calls the girls silly for believing in a fairy tale, she still holds on to her little dinosaur.

Though her and Haruo are also foils to the fairy tale. The little sister just wants them to say their feelings and be together. Her and her friends talk about Cinderella. Though Yumi knows that waiting around for a prince is not practical. That's why she works her job and prostitutes on the side. Her and Haruo getting together is also not practical because he's still a college student while she's having to prostitute to sustain herself. That's not ideal at all for a relationship. So while they are needlessly complicated, it's because their life is complicated.

Oh we're back on the melancholic mood from the first chapter, Snow White going on her life trying to make her dreams come true meanwhile the Evil Queen gets into plotting her "revenge".
