I began reading this just because I heared that the final was different to anime, but when i finished ended up completely disappointed, this alternative ending felt pretty rushed and insipid. The aliens' topic was introduced too late, they didn't have an important participation and their whole arc stayed without resolution. Manga also omitted some important explications about the lore that of course were shown in the anime, like the desertification of world due to overexploitation of magmatic energy, or the past of Dr. Franxx, how klaxosaurs first appeared, etc. And i accept that the alien thing on the anime was a few senseless and pulled out of the sleeve, but the final battle on space was epic, and also, the end of anime shows an epilogue with all the main characters grown up as adults with children and their efforts to rebuild civilization. Last but not least, the reincarnation of both Hiro and Zero Two on the final scene gives the ending a more poetic and philosophical touch
