Regardless of whether or not you ship them (I personally kinda don't, but at the same I can see it happening), do you think there's a possibility they may end up together? I honestly don't really know anymore if Yuu will end up with Shinoa because it's a shounen and all, but at the same time a lot of the interactions between Mika and Yuu seem to be hinting at something more than just brotherly love, or at least leaves a pretty open room for different interpretation. I heard someone say it's just yaoi and queer baiting done to attract more female fans (they also said the author did a lot of teasing between two male friends in his other work that was excessive but the mc still ended up with the girl) and if they don't end up together it's honestly kinda true, because while it isn't direct or said outright, the subtle comments from others around them and the looks and blushes could be interpreted as something more pretty easily. Like I genuinely thought owari no seraph was a shounen ai or something when I saw some clips before watching it or knowing the plot, or maybe written by a female author who just likes seeing pretty guys being all close (not saying female writers can't write friendships between guys, but it's usually girls who write something a long these lines because there are more female fans of that stuff when compared to male ones)

I don't think Gureshin or Mikayuu will happen. I want Mikayuu to become canon so much, but I highly doubt that it will go in that direction.

I don’t know if anyone here wants spoilers, so I want to warn you if you keep reading this comment.

Currently in the manga Mika actually confessed to Yuu.. he really said “I love you” and in my country it was translated the same way in the printed volume (I mean, the kind of “I love you” only lovers say). I really don’t know where this could go, since we don’t know what Yuu feels yet and he didn’t answer properly. But I wouldn’t consider this yaoi, even though I know that animes/mangas are strictly divided in categories. What I think is that when love is involved within vampire stories, there’s always a very free way of considering it and expressing it. I think love is amazing in any form and I was extremely happy to see MikaYuu become somehow canon. Also, their bond is pretty much the center of the plot, but every particular about them seems to fit perfectly with the whole thing. I mean, it’s not distracting or anything, the story keeps going as well as their bond deepens. This is just my opinion guys

I haven't watched or read OnS, but I'd say a 1 solely based on the fact that it runs in a Jump magazine and they'd never allow more than teasing

Yeah, it's pretty much confirmed on Mika's end.
As much as a lot of us want MikaYuu to happen/ Yu to return the feelings, the show is probably leaning towards Yuunoa. ;-; (Though it's fine if you ship that too)

I'm not sure about Guren and Shinya, though.

Can someone please tell me why y’all ship characters with guys who are just really close to each other? It just makes it seem like if you care about another guy a lot, it’s automatically assumed that they are gay. For example, this anime, HxH, Skate the Infinity, Banana Fish. Other people don’t really ship two girls together just because they’re emotionally invested with each other. I just don’t get how brotherly love equates to being gay.

But... some of those are basically confirmed/obvious-
Most of the time people will deny gay ships but if it's straight they will say "oh yeah those two are definitely into eachother"
What's wrong with people shipping some characters with good chemistry, even if it's not Canon? They aren't doing any harm.

No hate, you are entitled to your own opinion and I respect that.

Sometimes they are just friends, sometimes they like eachother (in a subtle way, it doesn't need to be in your face, it's whatever the creator wants it to be), and sometimes it's just a bit of a bromance. At the end of the day, different people will interpret it different ways. Whatever makes people happy :)

Edit: As for the girl part, even if there's a clear romance, people will say "oH iT'S jUsT giRls being giRls" when it's not. I think girlxgirl is probably more common than boyxboy, but I'll leave it at that.

Thanks for the nice explanation, I’m not used to that on MAL. I’m not against it or anything, but I think some, not all, take ships too seriously. Like I was talking to this random girl about MHA, and I got cussed out because it doesn’t seem like Deku is into Bakugo or Todoroki at all. Like, you can have a fictional ship, but is it really that bad to where I have to get cussed out for?

That and for me, I show “brotherly love” for my friends and similar ways. So it just seems weird that every close guy friendship is viewed as gay.

But hey, you have a different opinions as others, which is totally fine. Thank you for the explanation :)

No problem :)
And yeah, I understand where you're coming from.

People like that tend to be common in the MHA fandom, but not all are like that😅
