I get what you mean, you’re not alone, between Kumoko and the human’s stories constantly flipping, confusing motives for the humans, and the newest aspect from the latest episode, yeah this was a confusing series.

Everything seems obvious and straightforward to me. It may have been confusing during the first 10 episodes, but everything should’ve been obvious after

I’m trying to avoid spoilers for those who haven’t watched the recent episode, but I’ll let you know, it has robots in it.

here, let me help: Everything Kumoko is the present. Shun and friends are the future. Kumoko's timeline is always straight.

I know, I already watched it. I’m asking what’s confusing about it? Also, the latest episode was aired more than 24 hours ago, so any anime-only with half a brain should know better than checking these forums before watching it especially when it’s obvious from the title that the discussion will be about it

Ye I'm very confused with episode 23 cause of the part where we don't see which is the same time as episode 22 but other side that's what I hate I wish kumo fought together.

I don't know how you can't say it's not the same timeline. The first scene is very clear it's the same timeline (the white girl only appears in the prolepsis).

That's not really that confusing if you remember that in episode 9 Administrator Gyuridisdiez clearly knew what a Smartphone was and how to use it which imply that he was aware of technology far more advanced than the one showed until this point.

For me it was confusing in the start but after hiiro talks with d about why she was only reincarnated as a spider and she tells that she is before everyone is in their baby form so that she can easily surpass them. From that episode for me no confusion.

You seem to be confused. She didn’t reincarnate as a spider so she can “surpass everyone”. She reincarnated as a spider because it was the form most suitable for her soul, just like Katia reincarnated as a girl because it’s most suitable for his soul. She surpassed them because she was a spider, she wasn’t made a spider to surpass everyone.

Im gonna be honest, if at episode 24 you still think the timelines are confusing you are simply not paying attention.

The Kumoko PoV and everything related to it is the present, everything related to Shun is the future.

As for the Mechas... They were introduced too soon, as in the LN they are introduced later and more properly (Millipense making another mistake, nothing new at this point). Cant say much without spoilers as its heavily related to the truth of that world (the one shown with the Taboo Skill), that is later explained in Kumoko's PoV (we would need a season 2 for this explanation). But by this point you should have enough clues about the fact this isnt a simple fantasy world (the administrators, taboo, the W System, the fact that Potimas is still alive after being beheaded).

They were mentionned in LN4 and first appear in the end of LN5.

Yup, its the same thing for me, i figure out one thing boom 2 more things thats confusing. If this show tie it all like a neat bow tie I'll give it a 7. If it creates a "find out in the next season" (whenever that it) I'll give it a 4.
Hhhmmmmmm.......

This story is NOT an episodic/seasonal show.
It is a fully developed and planned story along traditional literary lines.

This first part of the story is establishing the world, characters, and the problems the Protagonist must overcome (in this case, killing the elves, then killing Potimas, then dealing with Shun's stubbornness in her attempt to save the world). We, the viewers/readers need to know these ahead of time.

In season 2/the main story, we will return to the Protagonist as she grows and learns about these problems.

In the climax of the story, we will return to this event from the Protagonist's viewpoint, and see how she deals with the problems.

Part 1 - establish the setting and goals
Part 2 - growing conflict
Part 3 - climax
Part 4 - denouement/resolution.

Not everything will be revealed before the end of the story.

Wow, you explained it perfectly without spoiling anything. That's actually the main problem adapting such a story: many viewers are used to getting story arcs that can be covered in a cour or two. But here you cannot demand that the whole story is explained and all secrets revealed at the end of a (first) season. It's just the beginning. Sadly, the anime failed at establishing it. They concentrated too much on Kumo's shenanigans, even creating anime-original jokes, which shows their creativity and dedication, but somehow completely butchered the human part.

I disagree. They skip the first volume that explains the backstory of the humans but doesn't add much to the main story. They skip many things in LN3 that is relevant, but besides that, the important characters are introduced and LN5 (the most important part of Shun Story) is nearly completely in the anime.

Yeah like in one episode "I barely made it out alive from mother" but the fight itself is only episodes later

Don’t blame you from what I can tell they are changing things around too much and not following the intended order from the LN

I'm confused af about the part with the vampire girl who looks exactly like the baby for example they both have the same mole so are they the same person but time jump or what 😵‍💫

Edit: finally got it after the wizard man (who I forgot the name of) that defeated the demon army when they advanced on his base said 15 years ago it actually ment everything between the switches are 15 years apart (honestly stupid in my opinion but it is what it is honestly could care less about the side characters personally so I'm skipping all the extra student parts and just watching the MC parts depending on how it goes I might go back and watch them but for now I could honestly care less)
