Why is the score so low?

From what I’ve seen of the first episode, this anime is among the top things that MAPPA has done. The animation is splendid, the sakuga is amazing, and the plot is interesting enough to make me want more. So I wanna know why it only has a 6.41 when it should really be close to an 8 or maybe even a 9.

Its partly because the trailers made it seem like a historic samurai anime but what we got was some supernatural mecha esque samurai anime. I enjoyed it but it left a sour taste in many ppls mouth

I agree with the first post. I, and seemingly many others, went into this thinking it would focus more on the actual history around Yasuke. What we got instead was of a bunch of mechs and magic.

Especially since the series is so short, it also had a few other issues (ie. fast pacing, lack of proper explanations, and shallow characters).

Because its fucking garbage. The trailers painted it out to be a historical anime, not a generic fantasy as well. It's just bad.

It's 2 pack of ass. Episode 3-6 fell off (especially the ending 💀).

because it was disappointing a garbage bruh. I was hoping for some cool representation of my race but the story was ass, the animation was pretty good but only in like the first half and the mechs and shit ruined the setting

It was enjoyable, I liked Yasuke as the lead and thought the fights were well animated but I think the story needed more time to explain all these abilities and flesh out the villains and make me care more about the relationships between Yasuke and the rest of the cast.
