Why did Rod Reiss turn out so big in his titan form? I think he's even twice as tall as the colossal titan but didn't he just take the titan syringe's serum which lets someone turn into a normal titan?

Why would it be so big if he only licked the serum? That would be taking in less serum than someone who was injecting it. And surely the more serum taken means the bigger the Titan right? It’s probably just to do with his royal blood rather than how he took the serum

I know the real reason why and that's because of his mental health and if you don't believe me then for example look at reiners titan in season 4 ep 8 and look at his mental health

He's just a supermassive abnormal titan. I think that it's to do with his internal conflict that makes his titan act that way, but that's just theoretical

There's gonna be spoilers for future events as well as manga events on this comment.

There are two types of titan serum: Pure Titan Serum and Titan Shifter Serum.

Rod's vials consist of Titan Shifter Serum, particularly Collosal and Armor.

Titan Shifter Serum doesn't evaporate that's why Rod was able to lick it.

Also take note that these two titan shifter serums are what needed to build the wall.

Rod doesn't know what a Collosal serum was that's why he's about to inject it to Historia. This can be confirmed when Kenny made a comment about how Rod doesn't know about Titans better than them when he transformed.

Well, we can just assume that Rod turned into a mindless Collosal because he has a Royal Blood.

Rod Reiss probably turned into a supermassive abnormal titan due to the fact that he had royal blood and his age at the time he licked the serum.
