THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- It's sad that this is the last episode this season. I'm really looking forward for season 2. Meanwhile I'll be enjoying Petit Mix starting next week. Well sorry but if I have the right to vote as well I'll pick Peaky P-key this round too. Too bad that PM didn't have new song too though it is understandable. Anyway I think I'll create the same set list like this in the game latter just as reminder for this episode. See you later. |

The final episode of the hopeful first season. As I do hope with this being the first mix, that we'll get more. It's been a treat watching this show. Been a highlight of Fridays for sure. Only natural that our girls would face their toughest challenge from the get go, as it's sort of been building in a sense throughout the series later stages. Both songs were killer once again, they're always great on this show in general, no matter the group that is performing them. It's a shame Happy ara lost, but it's understandable. Hope they'll get their moment in the future. Also felt like a nice way to wrap up the anime with another song, that was built together by three groups. Very nice. |

Episode 13 (the final episode) is out! The Sunset Stage, where all groups groove in music and DJ, for one last hurrah! Since when did Rinku's house got such a BIG remodel LOLS. The power of friendship through shells. HappyAra vs. Peaky P-Key, and already...Maho with her "This means war!" proclaimation. This is the ONLY time you'll see cameos of other groups not featured in the anime, only by name. The competition of new songs are always the adventurous part, and it's actually refreshing to see the undefeated P-Key win overall instead of Happy Around (where the protagonist group always wins, it's very cliche). Regardless, it's an experience all on its own, and it's fun to see all groups gather together for a collab medley effort to finish on a high note: Photon Maiden's "A Lot Of Life" / Peaky P-Key's "Wish You Luck" / Happy Around!'s "Happy Music" What an end...and D4FES.??? |

I'm so happy that as a Peaky P-key fan, since the first time Bushiroad introduced D4DJ I have been rooting for them and now I get to see them performing their new song 'Absolute' |

It was a perfect final episode. Both HappyAra and P-key's performances were great but P-key's was on another level. I loved how they performed together in the end, they couldn't have made better final episode. It was filled with wholesomeness. When I first watched D4DJ, I absolutely hated the cg. But I started to love it after watching a few episodes. I really enjoyed the anime, I even started to play the game and I'm enjoying that as well. It was a good show. Solid 7/10 |

Happy Around faces Peaky P-key in the first round as expected. Both of their performances are very great. Happy Around rapping is very cool. Happy Around did their best against the invincible champions. The jointed after-party performance is totally awesome when everyone performs together. The second season when??? I hope they will announce it soon. |

The direction seemed too clip-on and uneven for this episode, but overall it was a good ending. Still a musical CGDCT to advertise the game (which is about to be released this spring), but it has already managed to break some boundaries of the genre and be enjoyable enough to watch. I liked it and I'll give it a 7 out of 10. I get the motivation to wait for the second season and download the game when it finally comes out. |

Great finale, the sunset fest was good. Ofc Happy Around didn't win but it was still fun nonetheless. Also wow so many songs in the afterparty. A really good music anime with some great songs, liked it a lot. 7.5/10 from me. |

Criminally underrated anime. Music was immaculate all the way through. A D4DJ second mix would be awesome. Fav anime of fall 2020. 7-8/10. |

What a wonderful ending. I couldn't expect less from an anime that has maintained such consistently high quality throughout all the episodes. D4DJ will be missed. I hope the second season doesn't take long to air. |

this is one of the most underrated anime of fall 2020 and it really sucks that so little people have seen it. music was absolutely amazing, the story was great with good pacing, and characters were cute too; the cgi was actually good too. i really enjoyed this anime and it's definitely my #1 pick for fall 2020, overall a 7/10. really hope we get a second season |

That's really ending the show on a high! Great performances throughout the whole episode. P-key destroyed Happy Around though, shame for them that they had to face off against P-key in the first round. I just want to know how big the margin was of them winning from Happy Around. Very underrated Anime and for someone who barely watch any 3DCGI Anime, this was actually really good. The CGI was good and eventho I listen to my fair share of DJ's and livesets, with a far different style, the songs were actually LIT most of the time. It's been a great watch and I hope we'll get a Second Mix! A fairly deserved 8/10 |

I'm glad that the producers didn't go the "newcomers beat everything and win the trophy" way, the friendly rivalry and mutual challenge to grow are so much more positive. I'm all for another season. |

You can basically skip the Peaky P-key performance if want to know that they win too easily, just seeing 5 secs you just go okay, with that much of investment in direction of photography, of course they will. That made me lose the heat of last episode. Now who will be the group who will compete as equal to Peaky P-key, will be a buff already known group or will have a new group? Like Bandori made RAS to combat Roselia. This how heavenly Peaky P-key as group is really needed? But in the end I'm happy to see Photon Maiden again. |

Amazing last. They took the realistic route for their battle stage which mean very understandable. No way Happy Ara won against Peaky P-key. The different between Peaky P-key and Happy Ara was so obvious, especially when Peaky P-key also did a nice change to their performance. That's very good, and, yeah, very entertaining. The next scene where everyone looked not so frustate, just beautiful too. Happy Ara won't let it down so much. Because Happy Around wasn't just a mere name, its represented well to their personality, to be happy around. The after party performance did a well done joint concert too. Everyone looked very happy, and their performances just too hype. I can't stand with it xd. At the end, see you later to the D4Fes? Well, ofc. If i had enough information about that. And for this show, its an obvious high-end 9/10. That's it for me. |

The first half covered the competition using the same format as typical competitions in anime, with the ones appearing later being the winner. (From my inexperienced eyes, PP-key's visuals and animations were a lot more flashy than Happy Ara's so there wasn't much tension felt there in the first place) Second half featured performances by all 3 units that had appeared in the anime thus far with the ending song showing off the other bands yet to make their anime debut. Seems like it's confirmed the 3 performing on stage in the first episode were the present day cafe owners and producer for Photon Maiden. (some people mentioned it was never directly shown before but the ending of this episode confirms it beyond doubt) Also, the male cafe owner finally spoke! Looking forward to the next season & (possibly) movie! |

oh god I'm so sad it's over this became one of my favorite anime's to watch like I absolutely enjoyed this everything about it. I can't wait for fes as well as the 3 new rival groups and their potential managers those hints at the end credits just made me want to rewatch this anime (of course I will). I'm glad happy around didn't win but at the same time once peaky p-key won against happy around they skipped everything and just went straight to them getting the trophy. absolutely loved the concert at the end it's just a shame I didn't get to see maho T pose one last time. the next parts are just some issues and comparisons so read at your own risk dear god I couldn't help but compare this to so many things mainly because it reminded me of those things. the one thing I keep comparing this to is Aikatsu and for good reasons to as rinku felt like a mix of yume from Aikatsu stars and Ichigo from og Aikatsu. of course that's not the only reason for the comparison there's more but the main one is that every episode has to have a performance. the other thing I've been comparing it to is style savvy more specifically trendsetters why you ask simple it's the ost that plays during certain scene whether it's in the cafeteria or the cafe the ost that plays always reminded me of style savvy. now this next comparison is incredibly obvious and if you don't know why don't worry I'll explain but it's splatoon 2 mainly this has to do with peaky p-key and photon maiden as those two groups reminded me a lot of pearl and marina mainly the two that sing during in the op. I'll be honest this show isn't great but I'm still rating it an 8 even though it has issues like how it felt like they were trying to give us arcs (I'll explain in a bit) but were only given so many episodes that they had to find a way to condense that into 13 episodes (this is why I think anime's should go back like the old days where the average was 20+ episodes). some potential arcs I noticed are: the introduction of peaky p-key which was basically the main focus and unfortunately felt a little lackluster for me (though not as much as photon maiden's introduction) it didn't feel like a rivalry let alone something to try to surpass it just felt like meeting new friends. moving on to photon maiden this is where I feel a lot of potential arcs were heavily condensed from how they are introduced to how they discovered a new color it felt... it... it felt rushed for example they're supposed to be the rising star but also happen to attend the same school and no one seems to have heard of them even though it's stated that they've been around for a pretty good while enough of that though moving on. they have a manager who wants photon maiden to show off a certain image and apparently knows the girl in the café (really need to know the story behind that). then of course we have the face off between happy around and photon maiden obviously the outcome can stay the same but after that where (I forget her name) see's a new color and is afraid to show it to her manager definitely could have been expanded with the manager refusing her at first then over time or preferably what's her name goes solo or rather in disguise under the name dj dragon and at first does poorly until she meets maho then everything can play out like it did in the series but with her manager discovering her secret and what's her name basically getting the courage to tell her that she wants photon maiden to perform her remix and again plays out exactly like it did in the series. there's a couple of other's but I just want to get this off my chest real quick but what the hell was up with that puppet/figma/doll thing in the café? I'm serious like what the hell was up with that? he was only present in two maybe three episodes but every time he was one screen he was in a different pose and at a different angle so I'm just confused as to whether this is a reference to someone (I mean I saw the wooser reference) or something? overall I feel like this anime should have been given the aikatsu treatment where it has 50 episodes so it could flesh out everything a little more (like the potential arcs I mentioned above poorly but still mentioned nonetheless) and give certain characters (rei and maho) a little bit more character development but I'm aware that in order to do that the people working on this would have to work none stop for months. so even though I would have loved for this to have been longer initially I'm glad we are getting more (though not technically confirmed as of this post) and also surprised they didn't go 2d but rather went cg for the whole thing and honestly animation 10 out of 10 with rinku being the greatest example of just how fluid and expressive the cg is in this show I mean just the transitions alone are amazing. okay I'm going to stop now and for the love of all that is isekai don't quote me if you do decide to quote me please cut out the unnecessary parts (you have no idea how many people do that and it just pisses me off well not really piss me off but rather irritate me) and only use the part you want to talk about. |

That peaky p-key song was sooo hype!!! I love Happy Around, but when Peaky p-key played that song, I knew the win would be theirs. This was a nice final episode by having the 3 DJ units perform together. It was such a joy to watch, plus we got to see cameos of the other units at the end! I'm gonna miss watching this & hearing the opening every week. I'm looking forward to a second season, whenever that will be. |

I just can't believe how good this anime was, the story is fun as hell, all the characters we got to know are great, the songs are all 10/10 omg, and that CGI man, that GODLIKE CGI... All of the songs of this last episode made me forget I was watching an anime, they were perfectly amazing... And that last song with all of the girls in stage made me feel so happy... Thanks D4DJ. But that final scene was kinda weird tho, D4FES? I know that was an actual Live they held last year, but why they show all those "old" guys and then a pick of them as a young dj group? That was kinda anticlimatic xD I'll wait for a Second Mix... the game will finally release in english in just a couple of months, and D4DJ Petit will start next Friday! There goes the best anime from both last and current season, I'LL MISS IT SO MUCH I WANT TO CRY, RINKU, MUNI, REI, MAHO, MY GIRLSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!! Never forget ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ |

if the other people don't have costumes to wear, just take off your own? Saki has a good way of solving problem. For a short moment, I thought she was wearing school uniform under her PM costume. lol glad they went the realistic route, Peaky-P can't be defeated this early.. maybe if there's a season 2.. Happy Ara can get more experience, and challenge them again. Well, they beat PM (a professional group) a few episodes ago.. and that's a great victory already. surprisingly good show. 8/10 |

First of all Don't forget we're getting shorts starting next week! The fun continues! My Lyrical Lily girls! aw man I'm so happy, I was ready to be sad that they didn't even show up as a cameo, all for them to do it right at the end, I'm a happy man. The last episode of the (for now) first season of D4DJ is here and was a great stopping point. While the pacing of this conclusion was very fast paced, I think it actually fit really well: Peaky was clearly meant to be the undisputed winner of the Sunset Stage and this is exactly what happened, so there was no unnecesary drama or tension, just HapiAra having a blast enjoying the opportunity they worked so hard to get and showing another reminder that yes, they are getting better and better, aiming to one day surpass Peaky P-Key. I really liked the second half of the episode as well with the HapiAra girls remembering the great times that came after meeting each other and then having a blast doing a performance with Peaky and Photon Maiden, what a lovable cast. I hope you mates enjoyed D4DJ as much as I did! One of those series that really knows how to bring a smile to your face. Lastly, great news if any of you have interest about the game, the global version has been announced to come out in Spring! I have been playing the Japanese version since it came out last year and it's an absolute blast, big recommendation for when the time comes. |

I honestly enjoyed this anime so much, I goddamn do. We not only close this anime with one performance, but TWO. The first being the Sunset Stage, which I thought was freaking good, and then the Towa afterparty hosted by the Photon Maiden. I would say even though it was fastly paced, which it kinda is, the songs kept me versed into the anime and manages to land a fine ending at that. I would never forget some of the songs that were featured in this anime, some I will consider BANGERS. And even though I was kinda late entering this, every week since then has been exciting and just overall fun. Yeah technically this is the last Fall 2020 anime to end, since the rest are pure leftovers for the Winter. But I would give this a solid 9/10, because it is freaking amazing. The 3D CG, the characters, the setup, AND THE MUSIC. It is like a chef's kiss to a person's first ever meal in the restaurant, and D4DJ is like that. I'm on board for Season 2, don't know about Petit but I will certainly look back to this anime with joy and HAPPY all AROUND. |

Man,this is a really fun and enjoyable anime.all the characters are likable and of course rei is the best one.i have watched some idol anime but surprisingly this is the one that I liked the most.nearly every song, make me vibing along with them and the music.maybe one of the reason bcz this anime is focused more on making the music rather than typical idol stuff.and they doesn't refer their teams as an idol or band but instead as a DJ.furthermore, seeing an idol anime with an actual proper cgi was a really nice change of pace.im gonna miss this one,I will waiting for the d4dj groovy mix.and I'm happy to see how good is the ranking for this anime.7.5/10. |

I didn't know what to expect from this mixed media 3D CGI show, but was pleasantly surprised, basically a cgdct music show at school. The music was catchy (love WoW War Tonight track and the ED), the girls were cute and the story was ok. Apart from the impromptu raves at school, the new music we got each week had me bopping along in my chair. I found the animation a bit bulky/boxy at times, but the character designs for the girls were great, Maho, Rei & Rinku especially. A well deserved 7/10. |

This was really great, SANZIGEN might be doing the best CG in anime outside of Orange and I kinda love that its being used on these silly yet infinitely charming "music girls" shows. Much better than Argonavis, marginally better than s2 of BanG Dream, not quite as good as s3. But an excellent start, and the other acts showing up in future seasons should only make it better. Glad people liked this. |
TEN COMMANDMENTS: 1) If Evangelion and Psycho-Pass are his only 10s, he probably also worships Tool and smells like cheesy puffs 2) Freudian psychosis =/= good writing 3) Moe blob art style is only ok in pure slice-of-life comedy 4) It's ok to enjoy shounen. Having fun is allowed 5) It is not ok to enjoy isekai (jk, it is, I just fucking hate it) 6) Creator breakdown =/= good writing 7) A story does not have to be wrapped up with a bow. Life is messy, why would a good story need to be tidy? 8) InuYasha is proto-Twilight 9) Ecchi CAN be good, but is almost always an abomination 10) If God is real, They allowed Super Kid to happen, so fuck Them |

I wasn't sure how the Sunset Stage was going to go until P-key got started and then I knew it was over right from their first beat. The after party concert was great though and goes to show that even though these groups are all rivals, they're ultimately there for the hype. Well, D4DJ blew away my expectations. Admittedly I thought it was just going to be BanG Dream with gangster rap, but this series really does a great job at showing how much range & creative freedom there is to the DJ scene. Rinku is definitely the embodiment of this as she was constantly trying out new things and inspiring those around her to go outside of their comfort zones. She reminds me a bit of Ichigo Hoshimiya from Aikatsu and that upbeat enthusiasm for performance art. That alone made picking this up whimsically wholly worth the while. 8/10 and now I feel like doing a cheerful spin. |

Welp, D4DJ First mix ended in a flash. I will give this show a 9/10. There was no cliché ending and plus the ending was beautifully maneuvered. In the end, all three units come together, and sing was something that I did not expect. I thought that Happy Around would win Sunset Stage and it would have a cliché ending like many other anime out there. This anime’s CGI was different, but it was still a banger. Sound, animation, colours, characters, and many other elements that made up the anime were awesome. The ending left us on a cliffhanger as there is a boy band that enters the café and is a past winner apparently. The ending says, “See you in D4FES”. I am glad we might get to see more. |

While watching this anime I just couldn't stop comparing it to BanG Dream! Similar in many ways, but just not as good in every way. Rinku was a mix of Kokoro and Kasumi but not as good as either, music was less memorable etc. Shizaki Kanon as Rei was one of the reasons I watched, and wasn't disappointed. She has one of the best vocals in the anime industry. Would love to see more of the other bands, such as Peaky Peak and Photon Maiden more, and the game-only bands, they look soo good. While the DJ concept was new and some songs were really good, I preferred the band setting from BanG Dream as it was much more common and real. It's a solid 6/10 for me, it will probably only get better from here on in. Would love a season 2. I have to say tho: WHY DO THE MOBS LOOK SO SCARY |

Yeah, this show's really got flair! Amazing performances this episode, my favourite being Photo Maiden's "A lot of life". It's a pity that Happy Ara lost in the first stage but well, that's Peaky P-Key for you I suppose. Good to see that the girls don't seem too disheartened though. Rap incorporated track though, not bad. Maho-san was really impressive both before and after the fight. She's been a great character but her best moments were probably both from this episode. I wonder what those last few seconds were hinting at by the way. Season 2? Sure, please. To be honest, I didn't think the show was going to end up well at all given how it started off but the last few episodes certainly saved the series and more. Also, the ED is going to go down as one of the best of Fall 2020, Raychell and Mizuki Nana-san hats off to you. And of course the Op too! Generous 7/10 from here. |
