Worry not friends, there is an epilogue. It hasn't been translated yet, but it looks like what y'all are looking for

Thank you! I thought the manga was finished and was disappointed by the ending but glad to know that there is an epilogue! Remind me not to mark a series completed if MAL says it's still publishing lmao
a really troublesome girl just showed up at a troubling time to start some trouble.

So after 37 chapters, 7 volumes and massive time skip, Kaoru is still THE SAME person, as in the begginning. What a giga waste of time, poor Uta.
World would be a better place if for example Pocha Climb got 7 volumes and this got axed after 2.

I wouldn't say she was the same person, it appeared as though she was just tipsy. Even if she's more emotionally stable, it wouldn't be unlikely to get drunk every now and again

Well, "the same" in a way she's still pretty useless and is unable even for 10 seconds of bravery for girl she apparently loves. This chapter felt more like doujin of manga, not it's integral part. Damn we lost our Eli x Umi doujins for this.

edit: yes, I'm tilted, sorry

Epilogue feels entirely cheap. As much as it's nice that Uta got what she wanted, it just seems like an easy ending for the shippers. Not every love story should end happy. Especially if it's entirely out of character with little to no buildup.

So. I bingeread this manga in two days because I needed to be distracted from life, so I didn't really put critical thinking into work.
Having said that, the epilogue is what anybody who experienced unrequitted love really wish for, so, having experienced it too many times I feel like it's fair we are finally having the ending we "deserve". Sort of reparatve justice but as a manga ending. So I'm not complaining.

Thinking it more rationally? This isn't actually the ending I wanted. Why would you do something like Uta did to herself? Why would you torture yourself for so many years? Loving someone is great and all but wouldn't have it be more realistic and comforting for the readers if Uta actually accepted the rejection and went on with her life, possibly finding someone that would love her back? The ending is a fantasy and that's ok because this is a manga, but how likely is it that your love is going to be corresponded after so many years? Is it healthy for you to cling onto it?

I have many questions, but in the end I'm glad in this story hope and pain was worth it.

Ending felt more sad to me than anything else. I did not get a “they end up together” vibe. Kaoru said she could never reciprocate Uta’s love, so I guess Uta is happy to just come home to a woman who will never love her romantically but is still one of the most precious people in her life. It feels kind of sad, but relationships like that do exist, where people accept whatever love the other person can give them. Not something I’d wish for any protagonist, but at least Kaoru left her good for nothing husband...for the sister who’s hopelessly in love with her. Hmmmmmm....it’s a no from me.
