Ok so I'm planning on watching Fate GO with somebody later today. I heard the watch order was First Order>Babylonia>Moonlight/Lostroom, so I decided to put the topic here. I myself have watched all of the main Fate series; Fate Zero, UBW, etc. so I have a really good idea on how the world works. On the other hand my friend doesn't have any prior knowledge to the Fate series other than seeing Rin on their instagram page a couple times. I was wondering if this movie covered anything about how the world works; Holy Grail War, servants and whatnot, so they would be able to enjoy and watch it with me.

I don't know whether or not Fate GO is the right starting point to put them into the world of Fate, so I would love to get an answer!

Thank you in advance!

F/GO is confusing even if you do know the Fate series lol.

F/GO is a gatcha game and the movie basically adapts the prologue of the 1st arc.
Camelot adapts the 6th chapter of the 1st arc of the game.
Babylonia adapts the 7th chapter of the 1st arc of the game.
Moonlight/Lostroom takes place between arc 1.5 and arc 2 of the game.

The first 3 I mentioned are standalones in that you don't need to know that much about Fate (though the Camelot BD hasn't been released yet). Watch them chronologically in order to undertand the big picture of the story. Moonlight/Lostroom on the other hand should not be watched as an anime only since it deals with later chapters in the game.

Well yes, But actually no! FGO is a gacha game this anime just adapts the first singularity or lets just say the first chapter of the story of the game, also even so if u watched it you wouldn't understand how things are going or how is it even possible to this this and that. Just watch fate zero and unlimited blade works they're dope and they're like the introduction to fate so after finishing them just watch any other fate series out there in any order

Its a bad idea to watch fate go first because the full story hasn't been adapted into an anime yet and the whole thing is too confusing, its better to start with fate zero and then watch unlimited blade works and then watch heavens feel movies

Yes

You can watch Fate GO with out having watch Fate Stay Night at all.

It's a separate story all together.

I'd recommend playing the mobile game developed by Delight Works.
That gacha game gives the story and context for the first 6 singularities.

There's a 7th singularity adapted into the Absolute Demonic Front Babylonia anime.
