| About Riri's skill, actually the official materials doesn't touch much of the use outside battles. It only talk about the skill being basically an air purifier. These are summary rather than translation. Please correct if there are any mistake :) Please don't quote, so it's easier to fix ;) A Lily got status called Skiller Value. 50% is the minimum needed to be able to use Charm. Over 60% they could start to manifest Rare Skill. This ability is related to their mental growth, and because Rare Skill reflects their personality, usually a Lily only has one rare skill. It's rated from level S, A, B, C. Those who managed to grow to level S can also use special moves from that skill. The character with highest Skiller Value now is Tachihara Sayu (the blonde girl standing behind Riri during the YuRi Weekly Lily in episode 4). Those who don't express any Rare Skill can still have abilities called Sub-Skill. Unlike Rare Skill, a Lily can have multiple Sub-Skill and if trained, could evolve into a Rare Skill too. The record holder is Hasebe Touka from the old Legion Alfheim who has 7 Sub-Skills. Yurigaoka's new entrance average is around 70-80%, so it's that kind of elite school with high bar of entry. Those who are accepted to Yurigaoka usually already developed Rare Skill. That's why even Fumi who got a well-sought skill is on waiting list like Riri instead of being accepted immediately. Source Skills Lunatic Trancer Trigger something close to berserk state by taking the Magi energy into their own body, and giving them fighting power close to the Huge. Although this also means they will keep fighting until they runs out of power. Those who manifest this skill are usually mentally unstable and they need someone they can depend on. Because of the high raw attacking power, it's starting to be taken more seriously. Example: Yuyu Phantasma Peek into parallel world of possibility and find the way to reach a conclusion. They can perform simulation in their mind and then share it with those around them. But without someone who can understand the user, it's difficult to actually use the skill. Instead, others would just see them as selfish and acting on their own. It's a rather new skill, and is valued greatly. Example: Tazusa, Kusumi. 鷹の目 (Eagle Eye) Gives a bird eye view of the situation. Very useful for commander to get full view of the battle in real time. Example: Fumi 天の秤目 (Heavenly Measuring Eye) Boost vision and measuring accuracy. A very useful skill for sniper. At level S, it also boost the user's processing speed. This skill and Eagle Eye are unaffected by difference in day or night, without need of any night vision tools. Example: Yujia Testament Can boost the range of other magic spell or rare skill. One of the skills that are difficult to find and develop. The demerit is, it weakens the magic shield around the user. (Source) Back then, there were many casualties among Lily with Testament skill. Example: Shenlin Charisma One of the less understood rare skills. It can purify bad Magi energy and convert it into energy usable by Lily's Charm. The user can absorb that energy, and release the excess to those around them. This has effect of boosting allies' morale and helps with recharging. A peculiar thing about Charisma (and Z), this skill can manifest even on people with Skiller value as low as 60. This is unlike Phantasma, Testament, Register, or Lunatic Trancer that only manifest in Lily who has high level. But there are lack of understanding about it simply because the skill itself is rare. (Source Source) Anyway, the most important part of this Rare Skill, and Heliosphere, is that they can change the nature of Magi energy, so it's suspected they are connected with origin of the Magi energy itself. (Source) Example: Riri 縮地 (Compress Space) In short, a skill to move quickly disregarding any resistance force. At high level, it's almost like instant teleportation. Example: Mai Z (Control Z or Last Letter) Reverse time of objects they can take in their hands. A much wanted skill for medic, and can also do emergency repair for overheating Charm during battle. この世の理 (Order of This World) Skill to observe energy vector of this world (unlike Phantasma that's looking into parallel world). Because of that function, it really helps in evasion by knowing direction of attacks. At high level, it can even use that information to attack multiple targets. Example: Ichi, Moyu ユーバーザイン (Uberzine?) Stealth ability. It can manipulate presence, by either erasing it completely (can even move among Huge undetected) or move it somewhere else as bait or distraction. Brave Opposite of Lunatic Trancer, this skill can stabilize Magi energy. Because it can convert the Huge-like Magi energy inside a berserker's body into Charm-like Magi energy, it can stop someone in Lunatic Trancer's mode. Can also increase the potential of allies. But it also use a lot of energy and can leave the user drained. 円環の御手 / Circlet of Breath Skill to allow dual wielding. Normally a Lily can only use a single Magi core at one time (they can switch weapon, but can't use two weapons together). Although Lilies usually can't handle two weapons perfectly, it would still gives them about 50% boost in power. Or, case like Shiori, she can use attack and defence Charm in each hands. 3rd Generation Charm's OS are developed to help with using multiple cores though, but the usage are still difficult. Example: Ena, Shiori ゼノンパラドキサ (Zenon Paradox?) Combination of Compress Space (speed up) and Order of This World (evasion up). Register An all around buff skill. It can increase concentration of Magi energy, supply energy to allies' Magi crystal, and boost the power of Charm. Also has ability to overlook the field, albeit inferior to the specialized Eagle Eye. They are crucial for the Noinvelt Tactic (the battle tactic of passing and shooting magi projectile at Huge, like in episode 3). It's said that all Legion should have at least one. From Fumi's story, Lily otaku usually first check up who's the Regista in a Legion. There is a saying, "You can still form a Legion without Phantasma, but Legion without Regista is out of question". Request to form a Legion without Regista is sure to be rejected. Example: Kaede Heliosphere Can increase the concentration of Magi energy. But unlike Register who directs the energy for offensive, Heliosphere is known for directing the energy into defensive barrier. Another in-demand skill because it helps increasing survivability of team members. It is suspected that both Charisma and Heliosphere has the same nature, but there's not enough understanding because nobody has managed to completely develop the skill yet. (Source) Example: Soraha Phase Transcendence Compress own's Magi energy and release it as an an attack with near infinite energy. Can use up all the user's energy, so better saved as final attack. (Megumin ^^;; ) Because the user is left vulnerable until they can recharge, the users of this skill need team to support them. Example: Miriam, Araya There are also characters known as Boosted Lily. They are artificially modified, and mostly related to the GEHENA company. Garden are split in two factions, those who are pro to that approach, and those who are against it (such as Yurigaoka). Some of their skills are for example Regenerator : Regenerate lost body part, a common among Boosted Lily. Alchemy Trace : Use their own blood to create immitation Charm. Enhancement : Temporarily upgrade own's sub-skill into rare skill. Ether Body : Create a body double for an instance, and can be used for double attack. But the skill gives very heavy load to the user. Drain : Absorb the Magi energy (including Huge's) from around the user. But without Charisma, this is almost always means the user will falls into berserk state. Astral Guarder : Protect the user's soul. A skill to counter poisonous effect of Huge's energy, and also made them immune to mental attack. Concurrent Boost : Stack cast multiple buff. Nosferatu : Stops aging and depletion of Magi energy with age. It is rumoured that the director of Yurigaoka (sister of that guy Moyu speaks with at the end of episode 4) is a successful attempt, but it's unconfirmed. Magi Reflector : Create barrier that can deflect Magi energy. |
