| I was skimming through some of the episodes and I noticed characters I haven't seen in the Ryououki, GXP or War on Geminar series/ovas.But some of the characters seem to be from Dual Parallel trouble adventure. Do I need to read any mangas to follow whats on in the 5th season of Tenchi Muyo Ryououki? |

Do I need to read any mangas to follow whats on in the 5th season of Tenchi Muyo Ryououki? the thing with the characters you don't know from GXP and Tenchi 'main plotline' is... a SHIT-TON of them are side characters in OVA S4 & S5 and they've got things to say but that's all you need, what they say. their backstories etc. are barely pertinent to S4 and S5. just concentrate on Tenchi's girls(and his girls' families), his granpa, pops, their wives, their kids and parents... because yes the Emperor AND the Emp's mom n dad(Yotsuga, Kazuki) show up. so Tenchi's immediate and married into blood family. also Ryou-Ouki's humanoid form ages into a grown woman and joins Tenchi's harem along with an all grown up Sasami looking just like Tsunami's image of her. then you need to concentrate on Seina and his girls, which SOME of them come from Renzu when Kiriko etc. traveled there. but those are just 'side girls'. his main circle established in GXP at their wedding... along with a teenaged Fuku in humanoid form... is all you need to know about. don't worry about the lady spies who used to be Seto's handmaidens. they went poof before Kenshi was even born. also, Washuu created several white cabbits/enhanced Ryou units. but they hang out with Seina and Fuku so you'll see them on Tabletop Island mostly, i believe they're Area, Apuesuta, Saki, and Dado. their humanoid forms are pictured in the characters section of the S5 listing. as to Paruti Jurai... i've no clue, other than Ayeka and Sasami both know her from before they chased after Ryoko and went into suspended animation due to the insanely long transit times for the pursuit. so the girls haven't seen Paruti in centuries. as to Famu, Milon i believe she's the Earthling, pure human, hand picked by the Masaki Earth Conspiracy to use as a 'paper tiger' in the Galaxy Parliament for Earth's Independent Seat. she's very very minor so just keep her in the corner of your mind for bits and pieces of S4,5. oh the Seina Support Staff from Airi's Office at GXP return to Earth now and again, you'll know them by their Masaki last names (Mizune, Fuuka, and Otoka). they're Juraians who grew up in the Masaki Village but went into space when they stopped showing their physical ages in their 20's. they basically support Seina, his ship, and wives from back at GXP HQ with money, logistics, intel, etc. you won't recognize Tsukiko Masaki... Kai and Kiriko's mom... she never appeared in GXP... apparently the Masaki Village Ladies' Council had Seina and Tsukiko matched up when he was a little little boy... but Kiriko attached herself to Seina when he was very young instead. Tsukiko is also a GXP Academy Instructor on 'indefinite leave' to raise her family on Earth. just remember, there's OVER 15 YEARS worth of timeskips inside S4 and S5... because by ep5 of S5 Kenshi's still not 15 years old and ready to go to Geminar. |
