| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- I think what was most interesting about the set up for this chapter was the fact that we know both individuals are rather intelligent, and we know that Morita’s tricks are, by his own words, shoddy! It had me asking how the two strategies would come together in a way that would successfully trick mr. moustache. Luckily with mr. moustache buying the pager trick long enough to get close enough to fire into the curtain, everything panned out all right! Our boy had no fear, hiding behind an impractical defense and popping out with a surprise attack as the curtains became a blind spot. ‘A heretical sensibility’ is a charming phrase. It reminds me of the language that could be used to describe Akagi, in fact about everything on that page could describe Akagi and has before! ‘He has a sharp intelligence and ability to throw away his life which puts him beyond the comprehension of others, he is a genius.‘ I do see how Morita has grown accustomed to this life. On an obvious level, he did not have results at the beginning of the manga, and by living this life he has shown immense results, he has grown as a person, he's working with a man that he looks up to, and he must really enjoy these moments where he can tap into his ‘heretical sensibility’, what I imagine he once called transcendence beyond greed and desire. It’s a state I feel most Fukumoto characters do their best to reach. One where they can live true to themselves while fearing no consequence. |
