In the anime, Emma and William lost each other's presence at the Crystal Palace and were later reunited at a fountain, while in the manga, this event did not happen.

In the anime, Kelly spoke with Al about Emma before passing away, Emma later discovered Kelly at her bed, this event did not happen in the manga.

In the manga, Emma left the Jones' house before William arrived, while in the anime, William was able to see Emma and embraced her before she left.

In the anime, Emma wrote William a farewell letter before she left for the train station, which is found and read by William. While in the manga, this event did not happen.

Nanette is an anime exclusive character and therefore Emma was never accused of thievery and Hans never went to a bar and confronted a man in the manga.

In the manga, Aurelia discovered Emma and William's affair, the next morning, Emma woke up to an empty room with William gone, while in the anime, Aurelia didn't discover their affair, and William woke up to an empty room with Emma gone.

In the manga, William and Emma exchanged love letters which included their own lock of hair, while in the anime, only William sent Emma letter.

In the manga, William visited Emma at Molder's household at Haworth, and Emma ran to him and embraced, later William spoke with the Molders. While in the anime, William visited Molders when they arrived at London, and Emma requested William to leave.

In the manga, Viscount Campbell ordered Emma to be kidnapped and forced her to write a letter about cutting ties with William, then later had her sent to America, William saw through the plan and later reunited with her in America. In the anime, this event did not happen, and it is seemly replaced by Emma running away and later found by Hans and brought back to London.

In the anime, Hans asked Emma to marry him, this event did not happen in the manga.

In the anime, the whole event of William trying to save his father's company did not happen in the manga.

In the anime, William and Emma were reunited at the fountain at Crystal Palace and shared a kiss and later married, while in the manga, William and Emma were reunited and shared a kiss at Aurelia's home. They married during the new era (1900) with all the Jones', Hakim, the Molders and their maids attending their wedding.
