| I liked it. The pacing felt a bit too fast, but I thought the story and atmosphere were solid. It felt influenced by Heidi but with a more magical spin. The pudding also brought them all together in friendship. I give it a 4/5. I would be interested in watching the sequel with English subtitles, but it doesn't seem available. |
| I'm surprised this got an official release on youtube, it seems to me that Japanese stuidos are usually unwilling to share event animations with the wider public even long after the event is relevant. Or maybe that's just Ghibli and that one film that it's creator wants to only be seen in theaters. |

| It was a decent kids film for what it is and i appreciate that TV Asahi uploaded the movie w/ subs. Ngl I was surprised to see that Minoru Okazaki and Hiroshi Wagatsuma were involved tho, as I thought they retired from Synergy and the industry as a whole prior to this film. It’s also the last work(s) that Wagatsuma worked on before his death in June 2017. |
