The other half of the coin. If you didn’t read The journey go read that first.

Anohana is the best example I can think of for a perfect ending to a story. As far a stories goes it’s quite good. The journey was nice, but if you’ve watched it you know that the journey culminated in a five minute conclusion. You probably cried. I know a big part of it was the song , but you have to remember that the music is a part of the anime. The whole thing was done brilliantly. I don’t know how it was done but it was done in such a way that each story was incomplete in a sense and then in five minutes it completed everyone’s story and everyone’s character arc at the same time. It was master fully written.

Genre doesn’t matter is the story if the journey, and the destination are good and they compliment each other the story will be great. Lots of people say it’s the journey that matters they are only half right fifty percent. (Not a lot. Right? You fail the class with a fifty.) The journey and the destination are equally important. They give each other meaning.
