Girls' Last Tour
| I don't mean for this topic to be offensive to any hardcore fans of the show, but I was wondering if this series is worth dropping. The show is too slow for me and it makes me fall asleep every time I sit down and watch an episode, despite how much I enjoy the lore and the characters in the anime. I was also wondering if the manga is better than the anime. I noticed that it has a higher MAL rating than the anime. -Grim |
| The manga is much shorter (with only a handful of pages per chapter) and has less of what the anime adaptation offers. In my personal opinion, I prefer the anime. If this show makes you fall asleep, I doubt the manga would do you better. |
| In my personal opinion the manga doesnt come close to the anime. The anime really works well with the VAs, dynamic animation, perspective of artwork and scenery shots and also music. In the middle there is the rain sound episode which is really great in the anime as it has its own and pretty unique song made up of the girls singing and raindrops creating sound. In the manga it just kinda happens. As there isnt really much story or character developement the manga is just shorter without having a benefit to it being shorter. It doesnt become more focussed, if anything individual scenes turn from actual crafted scenes to a single sloppily drawn image. I personally actually loved the anime exactly for making me fall asleep, it was so calming to watch I could sleep like a baby afterwards. Also the mood of the manga changes drastically after the point were the anime ends. Its actually a good spot to end the story the way the anime did. |
