*If you haven't read the most recent chapters, please do so before venturing any further*

The end of Hellsing is approaching with Hirano's usual unpredictable speed, so lets get the theories going.
How do YOU think it's going to end?

Me? I am hoping for something surprising. I mean, Alucard's "Death" was far too unepic to be a real death scene, so I expect to see him coming back somehow and die properly. Major Gourmand and Doc will probably be offed by Ceras and Integra, and Walter either by Heinkel, a returned Alucard or Integra.
And then we have the nuke...I think it's rather unlikely they are going to deploy it now...but still, I suppose there is a reason why they introduced it in the first place...

I don't know.
Perhaps Hirano surprises everyone by letting Alucard die like this?
And didn't he smile peacefully and deny his Master's orders, something which he would never do if he didn't want to go?

I know I was pretty surprised. Moreso by Walther's betrayal though. If he won't be killed by Heinkel, I'm quite sure he will commit suicide. As far as I got it, killing Alucard was pretty much the whole reason for him becoming a traitor, no? So now that that's taken away from him, and he can't get back to his life as a servant anymore, I'm rather sure he'll face death more or less willingly.

I'm still quite interested in what's the deal with the Major... ...these newest flashbacks seem to show that he has been immortal even before WWII ended and the Last Battallion was founded if you ask me. So what is he? A freak of nature?
And what about the doc?

"Latest flashback"? When was that in the manga? I've only seen some "bonus page" when he was shot by Russians. .__.

And about the ending, it's extremely hard to predict anything since it's Hirano we're talking about after all... xD I just don't hope Alucard came back/didn't really die.

I reckon Walter has a crisis of conscience, goes and kills the major, then either commits suicide/allows Integra to kill him as punishment for his betrayal.

As for Alucard, I'm in two minds as to how 'permanent' his death is.
On one hand it was a clever plot twist, beautifully done, and touching if a bit short.
On the other hand I'm thinking, 'No way! That must make Alucard one of the only heroes in the history of manga to be successfully pwned by the bad guy'

I think I'd be really disappointed to see Alucard killed so easily. It kind of decreases the awsomeness of Alucard by saying that he can maintain the personalities of thousands of souls inside of him screaming at the same time, but has less self-awareness than a werewolf, a minor character.

I'd like to see a showdown between Alucard and the Major. If Alucard does snap out of it though, I see him simply expelling the werewolf from his body, gaining a powerful new familiar, or gaining the ability of even more invincibility by being able to be everywhere at once. I just hope this isn't another anime/manga that has a disappointing ending while otherwise being incredible.
Overanalyzing since 1988.

Nuke ending seems most likely now. Remember Chekhov's Gun...
Still, it's fitting to end such a spectacular series with a spectacular blast.

I think that if any of the chief characters survives in the end, it's gonna be Integral and Seras - Seras will then obviously become Alucard's successor (I think his death is final, however unepic - and lame - it was. He wouldn't say farewell to Integral if there was any chance of him coming back). Providing that Hellsing as an organization is going to rise again - after all, the HQ is devastated and there is only 1 member left alive.

I almost forgot about those 2 Round Table members who were gonna use nukes as a last resort. Nuke ending does seem likely, and very delicious.

Spoilers for the last chapter

It's the real ending: according to three Japanese websites, confirmed by two people who got the YKO in the English fandom.

I lol'd. XD Love it how Doc has blood splattered on him.

@Bloody Kiba: Seems you were right, eh. I'm... a little disappointed. -_-

I really liked the ending, the comedy was a nice change of pace compared to tons of carnage that came before. It reminded me of the first few Hellsing chapters. Though I don't really o in for happy ending cause I find them cheesy, this manga made it work.

Can't wait for Dawn to finish and Hirano to start on his new series.

Alucard and Seras

Well the chapter was OK for me, I think it just had a bit too much humor in it. After all the serious chapters, I kinda expected a much more serious and darker ending, but Hellsing never stops to surprise me. I'm just happy Alucard is back.

Uhm, I dunno what to think actually. I'm really happy about Alucard's return, but on the other hand it was a bit too much of a happy end; I mean, having put so much of human/monster philosophy into Hellsing, Hirano might have as well allowed Alucard to be killed, since he seemed to have wanted death himself, and deserved it well.
But it's still good that Major's war was such an epic fail.

And AlucardxIntegra is another epic fail...

I guess Alucard can't call on an army of people he's eaten now can he? Did he just kill everyone but the wearwolf girl or what? Is he even more invincible now that he's everywhere and nowhere like the wearwolf girl? Why is it that just killing a bunch of his other lives brought him back? Anyone who can clarify? I'm a bit confused.

Otherwise, I think Alucard just really wanted to be killed by a human, not another monster. That's why he seemed so disappointed when Anderson transformed. I almost expected the Major's little speech about being a human to mean that Alucard was actually going to be dead.

"And AlucardxIntegra is another epic fail..."

I never understood why everyone keeps saying that. I didn't see any AlucardxIntergra in the chapter....just an old servant returning to his master.....meh. >_>

Well, I liked the last chapter of Hellsing. Alucard came back and the explanation of his return is quite a good for me. I also enjoyed the pic with Integral and Alu but I still don't find any "deeper meaning" in it xD.

I mean the "Welcome home, count" "I am home, countess" (quoting from memory so I might not be exact) dialogue and the general feeling of it. I kinda envy you that you didn't have it, it spoiled Hellsing's ending to me!

I liked the ending.

Alucard showed that the Major wasn't human enough to defeat him in the end. :P

Although I do wonder if Hirano will be making any kind of sequel to Hellsing?

No. No. No. Hirano should get his fat, lazy ass working on the Dawn again before he takes on a sequel or a new project. I still can't wrap my mind around why Hirano would create a form of Alucard that's so androgynous.

I wouldn't mind if he did Crossfire in to a more developed story. Even though section 13 are a bunch of douches they are still interesting douches.

But yeah I also wanna see how Dawn turns out.

He already stated he was planning another project sometime this year if my memory serve me correctly.
There were rumors about possibly something Shakespeare related.
Gief Hirano Hamlet plox.
