Pet/Crusher/Image user

So, what exactly is the difference between those three? I am enjoying the hell out of this show, but i kinda feel like I'm missing some important info here. We know that Hiroki is Tsukasa's "pet", but what exactly does it mean? Are Tsukasa and Satoru Hayashi's pets as well? Aren't they all crushers? And how is "image user" different from a crusher?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think 'image users' are basically higher level 'crushers'. Image users can alter people's minds without destroying them (but can destroy them if they want to), whereas crushers (such as Katsuragi) can't avoid causing harm.

About 'pets' I'm certain. Hiroki is Tsukasa's pet because Tsukasa shared his peak (best memory) with him and taught him how to create his own peak and valleys which would then shield Hiroki from the outside world so that he would no longer be overwhelmed by other people's thoughts and could function normally. As a result, Hiroki is extremely grateful to Tsukasa and views him as his saviour and someone precious. He's extremely loyal to him now, hence the name 'pet'. Similarly, Tsukasa and Satoru are the pets of Hayashi (the whole beginning of ep 1 was Satoru drowning in other people's heads, until Hayashi saved him and made him his pet). Interestingly enough, Hayashi seems to be no one's pet.
