I had high hopes for the BD release of episode 4 since the TV ver. was full of derpy faces and animation errors ...
The Bluray versión fixed SOME (not all) of the most noticeable derpy faces but almost everything else is the same ... the Sheffield vs Takao was the same, sheffield "vs" akagi & kaga also was the same.

i feel "kind of" scammed ... i'm not expecting anyone to care, i'm just letting out some frustration.

I actually doesn't care much, because almost all of anime BD out there doesn't change much from TV version, except BD of theaters movie. What i care is the episode 11 and 12 that have been postponed. When they announced what studio handle the anime i don't expect much from them, they are newbie studio. it is not like veteran or famous studio like what....Ufotable, if Ufotable handling the show and doing everything bad then i must be very pissed, but hey they are not ran the show ^^

Having watched TV & bluray versions of a lot of anime, i can can assure you that there are major animation fixes in a lot of shows.
Animes that come to mind .. madoka magica, monogatari series (earlier seasons mostly), ore twintail ni narimasu...

The improvements in Twintail was huge when it went to BD, and I too was absolutely expecting those kinds of revisions for Azur Lane. Disappointing to hear otherwise.

Only example I could Google quickly: https://sociorocketnewsen.files.wordpress.com/2015/04/ax-1.png

This is why Yostar gave out those Enterprise and Belfast Chroma skins with the Blu ray lol, because they knew no one would buy it given how lackluster the aired version was....Now I'm glad I didn't spend any money on this, I'll just continue to support them by buying gems and merchandises

Picture with comparisons please, since when this post was screencapped and posted in FB, you are being accused of being a pirate, and you don't deserved to say scammed if you did get it differently.

I didn't see any art and/or animation errors from episode 1 to 5.

However, I have just watched episode 6, and in this one I felt that the art dropped considerably compared to the previous episodes.

I hope it wont keep it like that, but accordingly to my exp, every anime that started having a bad art/animation it kept bad until the end =(

A bit late here but,
Tbf two of the anime you mentioned are from SHAFT and they're notorious for having absolute dog shit TV releases but god tier blu-ray releases. If you're using SHAFT as your go to examples than you gotta lower your expectations.

I don't recall studios re-doing animation for Blu-rays they usually only fix art inconsistencys like off model's etc , remove censorship etc and few other details
