What went wrong?

Ever since the slip arc, the animation/art kept getting worse and worse, and once it reached the silver soul arc, the animation/art became utter garbage, I've never seen any adaptation handled with such poor care. The art is distorted, every single frame looks horrible and aesthetically unpleasing. What happened? What made Gintama fall so low?|

EDIT: I made this thread in the middle of watching this season, and at the end of the final episode, they explained what happened. I can't delete the thread unfortunately, doesn't let me.
